Stephen Amell: “If Hawkeye Can Be In The Avengers, Then Green Arrow Can Be In The Justice League”

CB: While it’s already been established by DC Comics’ Geoff Johns that the DC TV Universe is separate from the DC Cinematic Universe, it’s not deterring fans from asking Arrow star Stephen Amell if he would like to be a part of the Justice League movie.

Wouldn't mind Amell as Green Arrow in JL so long as it's a different version of the character more akin to the comics and less like Arrow's Nolan approach. As much as I love Arrow I don't want it or Flash to crossover to the big screen. And I'd hate for the shows to become hour length commercials for the big screen universe.

Personally I'm pulling for Brad Pitt for the role of Ollie in the JL.

Except they've said over and over that the universes are separate

He can be in the Justice League, it just won't be him playing the Green Arrow.

I would actually want to see a Green Arrow like the comics, non of that Arrow stuff. Sorry but I've invested too much time in the comics to be a fan of the shows version, it changes too much. Least with Nolan and Batman they had a good balance.

I am not a fan of Arrow at all either mainly cause it differs so much from the comics. I feel like DC can really break ground if they introduce a show that follows comic storylines. Not exactly follow them, but for most part.

All the deviations to the source material caused me to really hate Arrow too at first, but my friend got me around to it later on. I just view it as it's own thing. Batman and Wolverine have both had billions of revisions and reboots or "takes".

Different artist = different take on the source material. Simple as that! That's all this is. 1 different take of the many to come.

This is my beef with DC TV shows

Arrow, Gotham, Flash

They all seem like they aren't following the source material because they are aiming towards the mainstream audience, the people who don't have a clue and die hard fans of those characters are eating it up. Now that's not a bad thing but to come out and say "oh it's the best adaptation of Arrow/Flash" etc, I'm sorry but if it doesn't really follow the comics then it's not. It's just a TV show borrowing stuff from the comics, not actually being about them.

Constantine looks like the best to me and that's mainly because the film version didn't really follow the source material much at all.

The reason they aren't really following source material is because that source material is far to outlandish and probably wouldn't translate well on TV.

Green Arrow shooting punching bag arrows may be cool in the comic but imagine how it might come off on real life television. Some things are just better in comics because they are drawn and left to the imagination.

Imagine Wolverine (in movies) running around in a skin tight brown and beige suit or worse bright yellow and black stripes. It just doesn't work.

Not to mention there is so much history with characters from Arrow in DC that it would take years to establish them like the comic.

I dont care anymore if the tverse is separate or not I just want Stephen amell playing the role. I mean they already reality grounded man of steel which I have no problem with personally so why not go this route and just put the damn guy In the movie role know what I mean?

I'd love for the series finale episode of Arrow for Batman/Bruce Wayne/Ben Affleck to show up and ask him to join the Justice League.
