There seems to be a trend - all those are relatively recent movies. However, the flaw in the list is that it's not adjusted for inflation; a list which looks at top grossing films in real terms would be very different, and that's the list we should go by.

I won't buy the full Star Wars set until the final trilogy has been made and available on BluRay (or whatever CD medium is around by then).
I think Episodes VII to IX will be darker than the first 6. Luke will fall to the dark side, and will die at the hands of the new generation at the end of this trilogy. Alternatively, he'll succeed where the other Siths have failed and eradicate the Jedi completely and take ultimate control of the Galaxy. Either way, I dont think this trilogy will end well for Luke - it's the only way to keep the story interesting, and doesnt fall into the trap of 'happily ever after' cliches....
