If you know what you're getting into, you won't be disappointed. It's a typical disaster movie. I'd say it's a lot better than 2012, but not quite as good as The Day After Tomorrow (others might disagree with me though). Watch it if you want to see lots of buildings being destroyed and Dwayne Johnson being a hero with questionable morals that the movie never realizes are questionable. lol
I wish the movie had been about the nurse and her housemates. That sounds more interesting than what was actually in the movie.
I'm so excited for this! Twin Peaks is one of my favorite shows of all time.
"You are Lisa Simpson"
Yeah, the Godzilla trailers were pretty misleading because they made it seem like Brian Cranston was the main character (which would have peaked the interest of Breaking Bad fans). So it was pretty disappointing to discover that not only was he NOT the main character, but he barely appears in the movie at all.
I didn't mind that it didn't focus on Godzilla because that's what the old movies did too. But I did find it annoying that the movie would constantly cut away from Godzilla to the family whenever he was battling the Muto. It didn't help that the protagonist and his family was as dull as dirt. The movie really kicked itself in the pants by not having more Ken Watanabe and Cranston too.
Phil Hartman's death still upsets me to this day. :(
Or Shutter Island, for that matter.
Though the problem isn't necessarily that Leo isn't playing award-winning roles. The problem is that he is always up against such strong competition. Matthew McConaughey played an incredible role and deserved the win imo.
I genuinely had no idea Cabin Fever was even a franchise. o.O
It wasn't as good as the first, but I was pleasantly surprised by just how good it was. I liked the story and characters, so I didn't mind that it wasn't very scary. That's something I really like about James Wan's work... I usually like the characters enough that I don't mind if it isn't always scary.
Patrick Wilson was amazing in part 2 though.
Sam Worthington also can't act for shit, and seems to have trouble hiding his Australian accent in most films.
Anybody else. lol
...it can't be too hard to find a director who seems to give a damn about TMNT.
I though Scary Movie 3 was the best in the series, tbh.
Scary Movie 4, on the other hand, was just embarrassing.
Don't forget most of Mel Brooks' works, too. :)
I don't mind what race the actor is if they can pull off the essence of the original character. Can Jamie Foxx do that though? Probably not, tbh...
I like the idea of a dark Batman movie that still has the surreal elements of the comics. I liked Nolan's more realistic take on the Batman franchise, but there were many things from the comics that just wouldn't have worked in his movies, and I think it would be pretty cool to see some of Batman's more unreal elements on the big screen next time around. Shake things up a bit, you know?
The Arkham Asylum/City games did a great job of mixing darkness/grittiness with t...
To be fair Nick Fury is also white in the comics, yet he was played (amazingly, I might add) by Samuel L Jackson in the movies.
The only way I'd be interested in a PA5 is if they actually start explaining some things, because the mythos is getting convoluted and weird at this point. I kinda wish the movies had just stayed with the simple demon-terrorizing-a-family story, and didn't introduce all this weird witch/cult stuff. Because it isn't just un-scary, it's pretty silly as well.
I don't know why I even bothered to see PE4, tbh. It wasn't just predictable, it was practically EXACTLY the same as Paranormal Activity 3...right down to having the exact same scares (e.g. a kid talking to something off-camera isn't scary) and ending scene. Sure, I expect an element of predictability with these types of movies, but this was just pure laziness. :(
Have you watched the original recently though? Because it really doesn't hold up well. Pennywise was only really creepy in the sewer scene, but the rest of the movie was just Tim Curry goofing off in a clown outfit.
