It's the same the other way around with UK movies and books having different names in North America. Happens for a variety of reasons, from differences in the way people in UK / US speak to simply because the foreign publisher or distributor wants it changed. .. lots of reasons. In this instance though I can't see why giving the movie a title that makes it sound like the latest LEGO release is of benefit lol.
I admire your commitment. I give up on stuff within about twenty minutes lol. And yeah, that's a really cool poster.
I did consider those, but for me they were just outside the 10. I might add a "honourable mentions" section in future.
Actually I overstated that big time. Rock will of course make a very good but plastic hercules, which is you want fluff then fine, I just get annoyed with the amount of movies that have 0 depth.
Also, whilst I am a big fan of The Rock, he is just a personality actor and not capable of much more. problem with that is that Hercules is not his personality.
A part of me cannot believe how stupid a choice that would be, if it's true. love the rock but as Hercules. . . nooooo
I forgot it was Crazay who pointed out my "rugs" typo. Ignore that part of my comment, JL.
Awesome list, with the possible exception of Videodrome, which does nothing for me. Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is definitely my favourite on this list, but the inclusion of "cat" is kinda cheating :D
p.s Go Cats!
Yah, I know what you mean on both counts. Fear and Loathing is just an amazing film and TBH I don't think any list of drug movies, (or even rug movies for that matter ;) could be complete without it.
As for Requiem; I still get a bitter taste in my mouth every time I think about that film. It was shocking, but unlike most movies it was shocking with a very genuine and important reason.
Thanks for your feedback.
Whilst I am looking forward to seeing the movie, calling the poster "amazing" is overstatement of the century.
I always forgt houses in America are generally quite new. My house here in England is like 400 years old lol, I havent tried to find any ghosts in it though
A lot of people have said great things about Hugo. I didnt really get it personally; found it a little slow and dull. I must be missing something. What is it about it that you liked so much?
sigh. war horse for best picture is LOL IMO. sure it looked good, but the story was just rubbish. I find it hard to respect a film that takes a play and makes\ it worse.
yes, that's one of the points that the article makes in the 5 mistakes that people do. Agreed.
I heard "cougars" and came running.
Would like some clarification of "Top British film." Does that mean a "good" or a "commercial" film? cause Britain has plenty of the former, it's only the latter that is lacking.
also why does this remind one of kansas more than Britain? Dont understand that. It looks like a lot of Britain.
meh I must be pretty confused right now... *scratches head*
Im personally more surprised by how weird kate beckinsales face looks on that pic. o_0
I could perhaps have put HHH above Jericho and Punk. Hmmmmm... he is better in the ring, but I think Punk and Jericho are better on mic, which is what I was looking at mostly.
Austin VS The Rock is definitely a tough one. Im actually a bigger fan of Austin, but I think in terms of screen presence and mic skills the Rock is simply the best there ever was.
Sin city was a great movie, yeah, loved it.I see you like the more modern, special effects style movies then. Thats cool.
Do you watch world cinema too? I like quite a lot of foreign works as well as the real great hollywood flicks. Stuff like Cinema Paradiso, Il Postino, Les Enfants Du Paradis etc. I was fortunate in that I was forced to watch hours and hours of world cinema in acting and writing schools... thought I would hate it but ended up loving it. heh.
. . . uhhhhh . . . so . . . never mind.
