There's an entire first season out, which lots and lots of people are watching and rating highly, both from users and critics. The show's creator has claimed that it's already doing very well for Marvel. I'd consider that a slight success.
Sounds like a genius idea! That way 3D won't get a bad rap and people won't have to waste their money on post converted garbage.
And to RetrospectRealm - I believe he was referring to double the money when it comes to a full 3D IMAX experience.
Usually it's an extra $3 for 3D and then maybe another $3-5 for IMAX.
I appreciate the read and certainly respect your comment, but I must say that I RARELY (if ever) give out 1/10s. Usually really bad films still end up with a 3 or 4, but I kid you not Lords of Salem was THAT bad.
LOVED this movie. Great scene to show off.
Not a bad list at all, although I would have probably included a few Criterion titles or something by Terrence Malick at the very least. I personally was disappointed with The Matrix trilogy Blu set, but seeing Alien and Blade Runner sort of makes up for that!
Looks really fake...
Agreed 100% MilkMan. Blu-ray will be the last physical format and it's sad to see digital takeover. Nothing looks as good and sounds as clear as Blu.
I LOVE watching classics on the format because it really is like watching them for the first time. I love that Blu has the ability to show you the director's intention (grain, shading, coloring) and not just the clearest picture.
Blu-ray is definitely the collector's format and that has been proven ...
Happy Holidays to you too Mr. Stark! Looking forward to Shane Black's Iron Man 3.
Hopefully this film sees the light of day.
Didn't care for that montage that Johnston used to help establish the character of Cap. Would have much preferred SEEING Cap. actually become Cap.
I'm worried. Capt. America was the only Avengers flick I really didn't care for, which he directed. And Jurassic Park III kinda sucked...
Dumbest reasoning ever. What a horseshit move.
Glad to see CLOUD ATLAS and MAGIC MIKE getting some love. I figured ARGO, BATMAN and HOBBIT would be sure-fire campaigns.
It really does look amazing. Some of the ending "stop-motion" stuff looks very fluid and unlike anything I ever remember seeing.
I also picked up on a lot of tiny detail during the film's first act.
I'd agree with all of them minus Total Recall and Dragon Tattoo.
Total Recall was a MASSIVE bomb, even including worldwide totals. I think it surpasses Battleship and John Carter as the most expensive flop of the year.
Dragon Tattoo performed, but not to Sony's predictions, which is why the sequel hasn't been moving along as fast as they would have hoped for.
But otherwise, the studio is making solid profit and Skyfall should help...
I don't see how this is happening. Sony made a lot of money with The Vow and the recent hit Hotel Transylvania, plus almost all of their mid-sized blockbusters have been performing well overseas (Resident Evil, Men in Black and even Spider-Man). I only recall Ghost Rider 2 being the biggest flop.
Am I missing something?
I'd like to see Spidey return under Marvel's roof, but only if we don't have to sit through ANOTHER reboot. I liked AMAZING, ...
Dear lord that looks awful.
@Legion I'd say Prom Night and My Bloody Valentine were popular among bigger horror buffs back in the day to warrant remakes, but most casual fans probably haven't seen him, which is why the studios remade them, to get them in front of bigger audiences. They just happened to remake them and dilute them down to what they thought the original fans liked.
I'm a fan of MBV3D, but I can't stand Prom Night, due to its PG-13 rating.
Never saw the ori...
Great list. I probably would have put Se7en right behind Fight Club, while also including his role in Burn After Reading, but otherwise a solid list.
His face was SO DISTRACTING!! My god, how did someone OK that use of CGI?
