I agree.
I think he'll bring probably bring a different sensibility to the character while remaining true to the character. I cannot wait to see what he'll bring to the table.
If half those details are correct, it's a crazy mismash of ideas that don't seem to gel (on paper anyhow).
So he isn't a big name, whoopie! Some of the best remembered roles were played then unknowns; Bond (Connery) and Superman (Reeve) being the top two.
I agree completely with your thoughts on that review.
Just from this featurette alone, this movie is looking like the Superman movie the world has been waiting to see. The world that Snyder, Goyer and Nolan have created is just amazing. In the end, if this doesn't make a huge amount of bank, it will be a grave disappointment.
Problem was that Routh was given a bum script and that what was a real shame. I think he had the potential to be a really great Superman and could have been this generation's Superman, the same way that Reeve was for my Generation growing up.

I think the real question that needs to be asked is, "Will it top The Dark Knight's Box office take?" That movie was pretty a beast in the box office grosses.

(Wife, Daughter, Life, and/or even sandwich) movie. Thought the first film was great but I don't think this one will be even close to it.
Although as a PS I would love to see him be the guy who takes instead of being the victim character the whole time.
Put green colored visors and he would resemble the eradicator to me.
But more than likely it'll be Superman's butt.
