Awesome article and a blast from the past. I remember having the cassette tape from Pizza Hut of the live show. Listened to that thing religiously, lol.
Good piece, lots of strong moments, especially Exorcist III. Get chills just thinking about that scene.
I'm not sure Godzilla was a hero, maybe an anti-hero. I like to think he was sort of protecting Tokyo so he himself could be the one to destroy it, because whenever he was the one on a rampage it would be the likes of Mothra that would stop him.
100% agreement all around. Good choices. But Eliza Dushku could have made it in and Summer Glau would make a good addition (damn I'm a Whedonite)
Though I don't agree with any of them (too classical looking) Mary Jane and Gwen Staci need to be much more homegrown American to achieve the classic looks, it's nice to see the studio taking the casting seriously and taking their time instead of jumping on the next hottie bandwagon...to be honest, I could see Kristen Stewart, as much as it pains me to say that.
Bah! What is up with these reality-stylized films about computer-savvy nerds who struck it rich with social sites and search engines. At least there isn't much in the tank to fish out so hopefully the deluge will end as quickly and quietly as it began.
Not 100% certain why Piper Perabo would be reliable in a lead role. I can personally attest that her acting range is sparse at best. But then again I don't make up the largest part of that demographic.
Hmmm...I'm torn. While I'm a die-hard fan of the turtles, and I loved the original trilogy (despite the slow increase of cartoonishness), I totally despised the CGI Animated film. I'm kind of curious, but sort of worried as to what a whole new department will conjure up for our Heroes in a Halfshell.
I'm glad that so many good moments exist to fill sports history. I really enjoyed this one, lots of good memories.
Good to hear that Charisma Carpenter is getting some decent work. Was afraid after her Playboy stunt she'd fall off the radar. And of course, the Rock is always fun to watch.
Oh freakin' nasty. Yes, as big as they are you'd think they'd have it under control. But hey...it's New York! What a town!
Bad move on HBO's part. Should have gone for the deal, just as Nintendo should have stayed with Sony when they approached them for a joint home console deal. Corporations never learn.
Tis a shame to see one of the original staples of the retail movie chains begin to go belly up, but sadly, it's a side effect of an inability to evolve with the times. Blockbuster had their chance to jump in the "quick-stop" rental boxes before the RedBox. They had the opportunity to create an online presence before NetFlix, but old minds are hard to convince and others succeeded where they dragged their feet in hesitation.
Sometimes to win the game (or stay a...
Very nice. Taymor will probably outdo herself again. She'll drive a few actors insane along the way, but it should be a visual feast.
I've seen the original Swedish film and it was by far one of the greatest vampire films I've ever seen. I'm very curious to see how this remake comes out.
Pretty sick looking, I like the gritty feel to it, like District 9 or Knowing. Should be righteous.
Whew. I was quite afraid one of our founding studios of Hollywood was going the way of the dodo, but thankfully there are those who won't let the dream die.
Excellent exposition piece. Picked up on several things I never clued into but the similarities are striking. Very intuitive.
I'm so geeking out right now. A perfect cast, perfect sets, perfect story...Branagh outdid himself. Can't wait for next year.
Well with Disney dollars behind you the sky is the limit.
