After 5 seasons from 1999 to 2003 Futurama was canned by FOX.
From there the shows went into syndication from then until now on various networks until finding its home on Comedy Central a fitting place for it in my opinion.
In 2007 a contract was signed to produce 4 direct to DVD movie's which not only helped to appease the fans and ease the sting of the shows cancellation but it also managed to score high review scores and help prove that cartoon based TV shows could maintain a audience for longer than 20-30 minutes.
About a year ago it was revealed that Futurama was finally coming back to our low definition eye cancer causing televisions! A year later Futurama began airing the new episodes! To this day 7 of the 26 new episodes have been aired many of which are being put under the extreme scrutiny of the Futurama fan base.
From what I can tell I believe the good is far outweighing the bad but even if they continue to keep milling out great episodes, will it be enough to snag another contract for even more? And will the Cast be up for the task? I suppose in the end it will all boil down to the number of people tuning in each week which is OVER 2 MILLION during the original air time.
Being a Fan of this show has had many bumps in the road and I'd hate for it to end all over again after this seasons 26th episode. But since this is Comedy Central now and not FOX I have much more faith in its survival.
What do you think will there be a season 7?

Buying Beverly Hills Season 2 Review: This show about rich people and fancy homes goes on for too long to keep up with all the drama.
Honestly, Im hoping Futurama pulls a Simpsons and remains on the air for perhaps too many more years!
