The FilmWatch Voice: What's Your Favorite Movies? + Free Posters Giveaway

JL|2592d ago |Blog Post|89|

Grand Prize: LtSkittles
Runner-up: alycakes

Hello fellow FilmWatchers. Every day here on FilmWatch, members get to read about the latest movie news and also the opinions of writers across the internet and movie blogosphere. Now it's time for FilmWatch as a community to let our voice be heard.

In an effort to give our community their own voice and opinion (rather than just having to read the opinions of others), we're going to start a monthly feature. Each month we'll be approaching some element of the movie world and allowing you, the community, to have your say. These answers will then be taken and tallied and we'll run a post of the top answers to feature on here.

This will allow you fellow FilmWatchers to grow as a community and establish a personality of your own. Rather, than being stuck at merely a spectator status.

To kick things off, I've went and got an extra incentive for you guys to start off this tradition. This will be sponsored by

The good guys over at MoviePosterShop have given us a few goodies to give out to members here. All you have to do is participate in this FilmWatch Voice feature. To do so, simply list your 10 favorite movies below. Doing so, will enter you into the drawing for the poster giveaway.

At the end of the time period, we will draw two winners.
Grand Prize:
Deluxe Matted Framer Poster of your choice (27"x40" - over a $100 value)

A rolled 27"x40" poster of your choice

If you're not drawn as one of the two winners, though, don't be disheartened as nobody will walk away from this empty-handed. Those who participate but don't win will receive an exclusive coupon good for 30% off any purchase from

All prizes are furnished by

The story is too old to be commented.

#1 FTW!!!

My 10 absolute most favorite(in no particular order) movies are:

Fight Club
The Watchmen
Star Trek (New)
Superman (Original with Christopher Reeve)
Day of the Dead (Original)
Dawn of the Dead (Remake)
Star Wars series (all count as 1 for me)
28 Days and Weeks Later

I know there's kinda alot of movies with the series' and all but they count as 1 for me. I didn't rank them in any order because these are all movies that I could watch any time of the day or week no matter what my mood is. I actually have more I could have added but thought that might be rude.

I cringed when I saw Avatar at the end of your list.

darklordzor2590d ago

Agreed Crazay, nothing wrong with putting it on there.

Crazyglues2586d ago

What no Matrix, are you kidding me right now... Let me show you how this is done...

Matrix (the whole series, of course one is the best)
The Watchmen
Terminator (first one only)
Star Wars (just pick one they are all good, seriously this is on everyone's list unless your retarded.. LoL)
The Usual Suspects
Alien (the whole series)
No country for Old Men
28 Days
The Dark Knight

I'll join in the fun, just to add my two cents. Of course, as you should know, I won't be counting myself in the giveaway.

So, in no particular order here we go:

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Boondock Saints
3. Memento
4. 12 Angry Men
5. Fight Club
6. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (also Vacation and Vegas Vacation too)
7. Indiana Jones trilogy (if I have to pick just one: Raiders)
8. Fear and Loathing
9. Forrest Gump
10. I'm calling a tie between Snatch and The Sting

Of course, at any given time, this list could change up a tad bit since I have so many movies I love. But for the most part that's it. I'd say definitely those top four would never change. But all of these I could definitely watch again and again and again (and I have - seen them all TONS of times).

Crazay2592d ago

Really? 12 Angry Men is a unique choice. Never seen Snatch, Sting, Memento, Boondock Saints or Fear and Loathing.

JL2591d ago

Really what? And 12 Angry Men probably lands in the Top 5 greatest movies of all-time for me. That's greatest movies, not favorite (big difference). It's damn near perfect. And to think, that was Lumet's debut film.

As for the rest you mention, all movies I highly recommend.

Crazay2591d ago

No judging at all brother - just found that to be an interesting top film that I bet noone else would have.

Sahil2590d ago (Edited 2590d ago )

Woah.. Forrest Gump, how could I forget that :(

alycakes2590d ago

Forgot about Pulp Fiction and Boondock Saints and don't even get me started on 12 Angry Men...see I can't do this..I have a movie collection of over 600.

Soldierone2589d ago

You cheated! You can tie and pick multiple movies from a series! Haha Im only kidding, I did it too with Star Wars :P

Glad to see Boondock Saints on alot of these lists. Most of the time that movie gets a lot of hate in movie communities, dont know why.

I've seen/have yet to see so many movies I know I'm going to be missing a ton of good ones from any list I make.

Here goes though off the top of my head and in no order.

28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Team America
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
Let the Right One In/Let Me In
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
Pan's Labyrinth
Shawshank Redemption

Megaton2591d ago

Your list is bad and you should feel bad.

...and you should hurry up and fix your GPU so we can play Borderlands.

-MD-2591d ago

My list is good and I'm uninstalling Borderlands just for making me reply to your bad reply.

Good day sir.

Megaton2591d ago

Am disappoint that you liked Rock 'n Rolla more than Snatch and Lock/Stock. I thought that was the weakest of the 3. Get more bubbles so you can crap on my list.

...and fix your damn GPU. >:|

JL2591d ago

Agreed, Megaton. There's no way I'd ever put any of Guy's other movies above Snatch or Lock/Stock (as you see, Snatch is on my list).

Christopher2591d ago

I gotta admit, I cringed a bit at seeing Team America on your list :p

It looks like you're a big fan of the South Park guys. What do you think of Baseketball? I thought that was at least better than Team America.

Afterglow2591d ago

The Dark Knight
Spider-Man 2
Coming to America
A Bronx tale

Sahil2591d ago

My 10 Favorites of All-Time(Not in order):

Sixth Sense
Gran Torino
The Dark Knight
Garden State
Million Dollar Baby
The Cinderella Man

JL2591d ago

Garden State is a real good one that I think got really overlooked unfortunately.

Sahil2591d ago

Agree, everything's amazing about that movie.
