When you're shortsighted Mr. Magoo levels, yeah, God of War is one big escort mission. And Forza is just driving in circles. And Super Mario is just Goomba and Koopa genocide.

Pathetic clickbait. I read a preview and interview from a gaming magazine, and it was made clear that you can actually ignore Atreus in regards of the gameplay. I'm not going to read this clickbait, but I guess maybe the meaning was that it's an escort mission storywise.

I'll tell ya what's one big escort mission, ico. That's your benchmark for it and so far, GOW definitely doesn't feel like that!

Played the game for a couple hours last night and I will say it is awesome, but not God of war. And it is definitely dark souls combat. Camera can also be a hinderence in combat sometimes when enemies are surrounding you. And your son can be annoying, I always keep hearing, "father behind you" which is a little annoying. Great game but definitely not perfect.

There's always one, go play something else let the rest of us enjoy this master piece!!!!

The article is actually far more positive than the title would have you believe, I feel like the title was just for clicks.

If you claim to love this medium and aspire to become a respected voice in the community, here is a little pointer.......no matter how well written or valid your article might be, giving your piece a pure clickbait title immediately turns people off with the result that they will likely not even read what you have to say.

A word of advice to other journalists, speaking largely from experience: there are clickbait titles, and then there are ones I call anti-clickbait as they actually discourage people from wanting to click the link and they often feel prompted to leave a comment based on the headline and snippet above. If you really want people to read your article, make sure to avoid anti-clickbait. In this case you're making it look like the article is one big rant about the game and people don't want to read that.

So the article is completely satire? That's the only way I see it. Half of it is about Mario and kratos nipples for gods sake.

Apparently console gamers struggled during popcorn reading, seeing how they never go beyond the headline.

I find the son more of like an option, or a familiar because you can use him to attack and distract enemies. It adds to the strategy when fighting more difficult beasts. Having read the article, the author actually commends Sony Santa Monica for how the NPC is used here. This isn’t somebody trolling but giving props to the developer for being creative and clever with the NPC.

The headline is worded in a way designed to get you to click on it when in fact the article is praising the game. At least, that's what I got from reading it.

Great game so far. Its a much more mature(don't know if that is the right word) GOW then its predecessors. Corey and SSM chose the right gameplay mechanics. Oh and I love the block and parry and evade, dark souls has me already trained for it. Getting accustomed to the combos is tricky but satisfying and makes you feel like a beast. Im going to end this..too much rambling

I'm a Sony die hard fan, who's never played any prev. How titles before. Been watching a let's play of the newest game and while it looks dope ... I can not comprehend how it got all the 10/10.

Objectively speaking, it's very repetitive. Takes ages before you get another weapon. Seeing kratos using a shield with an axe ...feels strange. The same type of enemies show up, the same giant with different color .. feels halo 5 and warden recycle all over again.

The chests are annoying and only there because the previous had them. The kid is pointless and annoys the crap out of me with his "inista" "fukila" never ending shouting. Kratos can only punch while inrage, same mechanic over and over again.

Feels more like a quantity over quality product to me. If the game was short it would never has gotten these 10/10s.

Kratos onlys has 1 or 2 finishers, it gets boring real fast the way he kills off his enemies. The best part of the game has to be the visuals and the levels.

Also ... does kratos take a shot Evey time he picks up some health? Some really bad animation right there.

Haven't read any of the reviews, but objectively speaking it's flawed. And even though I haven't played the prevail.gows.. it feels strange to see kratos using an axe and a shield.

Also the enemy only has like 2 attack patterns. Happy for Sony, but can't justify all those perfect scores. 7/10 for me, 8/10 for how fans and a good start for a new trilogy?

Regardless of who is escorting who the game rates a 7.5/10. The graphics are a 10/10,story is a 10/10 the issue I had with it, is the combat is to repiticous. I was ok with the escort side of it.
