There is no question Scorpio is going to allow Textures never seen on a console level. The bandwidth was, is the bottleneck with all current consoles. Scorpio is a huge jump. Native 4k is not only possible but seems like a no brainer.

So with the true 4k power of scorpio, we can add hairs on ladybug's legs and chromatic abberation to the pics. MEGATON.

Can't wait to see the slider pics of Scorpio vs Pro. I'm not sure what engine they are using but despite looking cartoony you can clearly see there are significantly more details present when the game is rendered at 4K vs 1080p; and when the game is output as a supersample image on a 1080p screen vs regular 1080p.

hmm ok, note to MS: if they are going to show something about how games are going to look like in Scorpio make worthwhile at least, those images look pathetic, I mean they are showing a cartoony image and a bug for the Scorpio, while PS4 show this month ago:

I mean, it'll be substantially less than what current PCs can do, and we already know what that looks like. If this is all Scorpio can accomplish with tech demos (which always look better than real world examples), then I hope it's pretty cheap, lol.

Scorpio is a waste if the difference is this minor.

The fanboy banter in here is beyond ridiculous. Lets face it, the Scorpio will provide developers with the most graphics potential of any console in history. However, its up to developers to exploit it and for them to do that it has to be worth their while.

I have been playing games in 4Knative 4k checkerboard 2k and supersampled1080 for a while and the difference between all of them are pretty small. Smaller then the visual difference between 1080 and 720..I have a 55in Bravia 4K, no hdr but it's still nice. If Scorpio can show one EXCLUSIVE that looks more impressive then horizon does on my tv I might buy one, if it's no more then 5 bills. I need a 4K bluray player anyway.

I can clearly see the differences in the screen shots. After all these are simply just still screen shots. No motion or movement was shown and these don't represent any game. So make of it what you will. I found the pics very informative of what's to come. At e3 i expect Microsoft to put on a show. Perhaps the greatest presentation out of any of the e3's to date. We'll see..

Its not like the game (3rd party) is going to be night and day between 4k checkerboard 30-60 fps and native 4k 60 fps... If thats the only difference between the pro and scorpio yall xbox ppl better hope the scorpio is 399... Wow..how not impressive

The minute I start reading about "tech demos" it's time to click out

people keep thinking that a jump in resolution is some kind of amazing graphics magic button. Graphic technologies are a lot more complicated than that.

Now I am not saying a jump in resolution isn't good or great. I am just pointing out that people think it will somehow make everything look better in a way that is unprecedented.

Definitely noticeable. Hardly groundbreaking. I think people need to realign their expectations and realize thats what these mid gen upgrades are. Games are going to look better for sure. More importantly I think they are going to RUN better. Low framerates and screen tearing dont seem to be as big a deal as they used to be. But people expecting to be blown away like we were when The Matrix first released are going to be in for a rude shock.

And as always it will be up to the devs to utilize that power. Its art not just power. The best looking games graphically on the Horizon (after Horizon are games like TLoU2 & Death Stranding (hopefully once we see gameplay). God of War, Detroit, Uncharted:LL, maybe Spiderman and Days Gone will get near that level.

Have I purposely picked out only Sony games? No. Its just that these are the high water marks for graphics coming out. I havent seen anything coming on Xbox that matches them visually. Crackdown looks impressive for is destruction physics. Graphics remain to be seen since we havent seen it for so long.

Im not trying to put Scorpio down. Im certainly not basing my opinion of it on this comparison, Im actually excited to see what it will do. All Im saying is Scorpio will improve the games coming for Xbox, but its not going to be a day and night difference and people will enjoy it more if they realize this. They will be the same exact games. Crackdown will probably run a lot better, Sea of Thieves is still going to look average graphically, and games like Cuphead which looks so clean already will be almost identical.

This all applies to Pro as well. Horizon is the best looking thing Ive played, but I doubt it looks much worse on Vanilla PS4. All the art is still there. The character, the world. Not that much is changed. Just resolution and a few frames per second.

you guys do realize that these screenshots are not meant to convey the power of scorpio...they're just to show how the 4k super sampling gives u better image quality even on existing 1080p tvs.

thats amazing considering you're getting improvements on your current regular 1080p tv. you can say the difference isn't much, but you can't deny one is sharper than the other. i didn't see a difference on my phone but on my monitor it's very clear.

let the downplay continue... i've seen comments saying 360 has better graphics than scorpio lol when this isn't even showing scorpio's graphics just how it super samples a 4k image so that even 1080p tvs get a sharper picture.

just remember the word that was used and what devs did a lot of to keep one side happy during the ps4 and x1 gen, and that i can guarantee we will see with scorpio and the pro....... PARITY! lol.

Then there will be games that have full pc assets with high/ultra textures, shadows..etc..running in native 4k@60fps that will also benefit 1080p and 4K screen owners! I own 98 Xbox One games waiting for a graphical upgrade (4K textures) plus a sold frame rate. (either 30fps or 60fps) Does the tech demonstration include HDR? I don't think so. . .

This is incredibly underwhelming but MAN I'm so hungry for Scorpio news I'm willing to take any news updates on it..….................well almost any news updates as evident by my reaction to this article.

It's probably because i'm seeing it on a 1080p laptop screen, but i can't see the real difference here...

I think some people on here on for a shock. If you have a large TV (55" or above), then from 4-5 feet away you will see the difference clearly. If you have anything smaller than a 50" and sit 5-6 feet away from the TV then it becomes a lot harder to notice and it's not as apparent.
I have a 49 inch 4K TV (my living room is not that big). If I want to get the full effect of a 4K image I have to sit about 4 feet away from the TV. In general my sofa is about 8 feet away, standard blu ray looks as good as 4k from that distance. I'm not being picky, i am just preparing some people who will buy a 40 inch 4k TV to game on and sit 6 feet back, it's not as obvious as HD is from standard TV, so be prepared.
On the flip side, HDR is very noticeable, no matter how far you sit away and does make games like Horizon and Ghost Recon look that extra bit natural. So make sure your new TV has HDR, that will be more noticeable than any resolution bump.

Please remember guys, when you game, you tend to sit a good distance from the TV, all these comparisons are done as if you sit with your face next to the screen, the only way is to experience it is in a proper environment.

Sony fan boy and Xbox fan boy comments aside, this isn't what a 6TF console is all about. PC gamers have been able to upscale older games with higher res and improved graphics for years! And let me tell ya, the results are very limited.As the saying goes; You can't make a silk purse from a pigs ear. The Scorpio is a power house - in terms of consoles that is, but it's of no value whatsoever if polishing turds is your only objective. MS needs to develop all new games on Scorpio utilizing it's full potential. Then, and only then, downgrade to X1. Everyone wins, you get what you have paid for. For existing games fine, polish a bit, up res a bit, it's all good.But new games really need to show what Scorpio can do. I'm not convinced where MS stand on this,and that's why I've gone from day one purchaser to wait and see.

Just buy a pc if all you want are graphics upgrades, you'll get little to nothing else with the scorpio.

This to me does more harm then good. Unless you got a 4KTV you can't really see a significant difference. Microsoft should arrange kiosks across major outlets (BestBuy, Walmart, target, etc) to truly show the difference. This demonstration right here, won't make a consumer spend an extra $150 to $250 over a standard PS4 slim or XB1S.

All im saying is, that they should have picked a Forza or Gears image to show the differences between 2K and 4K. That shot with that ugly female-low-poly-model in front of a terrible asset .. terrible textures and what not looks like a PS360 early gen title upscaled to 4K (let´s just all hope, that girl ain´t a new IP from MS .... because that would be a megaburn for all those that wanted to play Scalebound. It looks that bad to me, fidelity wise, assets wise ... overall IQ it´s really bad (PS360 early years)).

I'll say this to the usual miserable guys downplaying it. Games on 1080p Scorpio look way better than 1080p games on PS4 Pro. With Scorpio you can atleast tell the difference.

the difference is so minimal that it's simply not worth paying couple extra hundred dollars for such a minimal change. Wait for Scorpio 2 or something lol.

As a Sony fan I hope Microsoft manages to put Sony out of its comfort space once again because it would require PS5 to be massively better than the scorpio. Sony has started to get lazy again once they got the lead. I hope the scorpio pushes 4K natively to drive and force sony to make the PS5 4K natively@60 fps. I mean I think PS4 Pro is a dissapointment. Its not PS4.5 but more like PS4.3 with PS4.2 being the slim version of the console. The PS4 Pro should be pushing 4K natively. PS VR is another disappointment. I don't understand why console makers think its the next best thing. How about fixing the physics out first before pushing people into the next fronteer.

If you want the Latest tech you'll buy it if you don't care about it you won't its for the hardcore not everybody Cares about graphics i for one do 60fps is going to be sweet. One reason I didn't pick up the Xbox1 was because of hardware that no longer seems to be a problem
