In an alternate reality maybe...in this world, the PS4 has tons of games, new ones being released frequently and so many coming in the future. I can always play my old games on a PS3 and I can buy a dedicated UHD player that will do the job better, but I can only play the games I want on the PS4/PRO...!

Okay. You're basically just talking annual Halo and Forza releases. Uncharted 4 is a superior TPS to Gears 4, imo, and PS4 has plenty of shooters and racers from third party. Gran Turismo is on the horizon, and most people play CoD and Battlefield anyways. Would an exclusive FPS be nice? Sure, but it's not something PS4 is dying to have right now.

"Backwards Compatibility"
Sure, I'll give you that one, but at the end of the day, BC is a convenience; not a system seller. If I desperately want to play PS3 games, well holy crap, I still have my PS3. Is BC is a nice feature? Yes. Is it a necessity? Not even close. I buy current gen hardware for current gen software. I'd much rather these companies be hard at delivering new AAA games, rather than market ones I either already played 4+ years, or chose not to.

I have just written in a PlayStation thread about it all and now see it in an xbox thread, it is ridiculous.

all consoles have there pros and cons, all consoles will sometimes do better than others in a year or a few and then it will reverse, sometime the console developers go through a wonderful few years where everything they do everyone loves while others are less fortunate. The thing here is no one developer can be throwing aces out all the time and no one developer made this industry what it is today.

As an Xbox one owner I am happy with what I own, but at the same time I also respect what each and every developer does out there, I'd love a PlayStation pro and switch but simply can't afford to fund a second console let alone a third. That being said just god damn enjoy the industry for what it is, don't be a child and limit your brain to fanboy thinking and enjoy everything that you like without the need of hating on what you don't own or is deemed competition to what you have.

whether your hating on console developers, video game developers I have often said if your hating on any developer you can't call yourself a real gamer. Yeah you pick up a controller n play games, but a true gamer would know from the heart that each and every developer out there has given there all to gaming. All developers have made strides, leaps and bounds in advancements for the industry in someway or another, it's only scum gamer's who do not realise this and hate and for no reason at all.

PS4 beats Xbox at...... games! Games are the only thing that matters to a true gamer. Uncharted, Horizon, Nioh and Bloodborne are GoTY contenders. If you're constantly missing out on some of the biggest and highly rated games every year, what's the point of the damn console?

I love my XB1 for its driving and space games (Forza Horizon series, Elite Dangerous, Everspace).
I love my PS4 for it's action adventure and movie-type games (Uncharted series, Until Dawn, Detroit).
Both consoles can happily co-exist and each has something the other console doesn't.

No console has "won" and "beats the other" because it's not a game and it's not a race, just two products on the market for us all to enjoy.

3. PS4 has more total exclusives, by a LOT
4. PS4 has more games 90+, 85+, and 80+ by a LOT

Opinions:
I think the DS4 is the best controller ever made, and we have one on our PS4 Pro, and me and my wife both use it on our PCs. Steam *fully* supports it now officially, which is amazing. And this isn't much, but I like the looks of the PS4 system itself the best of all 3 consoles.

No VR, fewer exclusives, fewer sales, sounds like a win to me.

TBH, I didn't read the article, but I couldn't disagree more that Xbox is better than PS4. This is coming from someone that has always been an Xbox fan from the get go and I just now bought a PS4 Pro in December. The PS4 is better where it matters and that is in games. The only exclusive that I personally care about on the Xbox anymore is Halo and now that it will likely be on PC I will probably play it on there. I am primarily a PC gamer anyway and when it comes to owning a console for a PC gamer the PS4 is a no brainer right now. Maybe Scorpio will change that, but it is no contest as of today.

However, he just shunned himself by admitting that Xbox One games can be played on PC, so technically you don't need the system if you have a computer. One thing I'd add having owned both is the xbox one remote play works a lot better than the ps4. The 4k bluray is a killer, but they also lack VR.

My brother wanted a system that played games AND 4K Blu Rays. Sure, as a game console PS4 is better, but as far as multimedia's concerned I couldn't argue with him.

I have contemplated about buying an XBOX ONE S. The funny thing is these features never came to my mind. It all came down to the games. "Halo,Forza,Gears, Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break. Nothing interested me. I would however, have bought an Xbox One S for Scalebound. Too bad The game was scraped.

If this factually true then howcome 54 million people haven't invested in an XBOX One or S like their competitor has? Why isn't the market share closer? 56% versus 29%. Even if the XBOX One was superior to PS4 in graphics standards; I'm talking 1080P and 60fps effortlessly, I still think this would be the same result. I know all those XBOX enthusiasts didn't may jump to PS4 because of the slight hardware benefits. Those are some valid points but overall I can't say Xbox One beats PS4. The biggest draw for me are games and PS4 offers a huge variety of exclusives. I mainly game on PC so really the only factor for me buying a console was for games. Every other feature is just extra to me.

Well if you told me that I would still say thanks for the advise but no thanks. Only reason I own an XB1 is due to 4K Blu-ray and the odd BC game. The rest of Microsoft's games like Sea of Thieves and Forza ill buy on PC. The Xbox One has just been a massive disappointment for me.

Again this is just me talking. I really liked the Xbox and adored the 360. I still bought and XB1 due to it having a few exclusives I was interested in. To having no exclusives at all to look forward to. As I said if it didn't have 4K Blu-ray player built in I simply wouldn't own an Xbox anymore.

I like Xbox for it's backwards compatibility. In my opinion, Sony does literally everything just as well if not better this gen, and I'm a previous Xbox only owner.

There are a few things in this article that are subjective and/or not really true. It mentions that on PS4 cloud saves have to be done manually, and that's definitely not true. Trying to show online saves (which both consoles have) as an advantage is kind of grasping at straws. And saying XB1 has the superior shooters is pretty subjective, the Halo releases on XB1 have been quite disappointing (Halo Collection was a disaster and Halo 5 wasn't great), and even Gears fizzled quickly. Play Anywhere is ok, but has only been on a handful of games, and it only works with digital buys which usually are priced a bit higher. EA Access is an advantage for sure, but I can do it on the PC. And backwards compatibility is ok but not the system maker it's been marketed as. Yay, I can play the 360 version of Madden 2011 if I own it...or play Horizon/Bloodborne/Nier/Unchar ted/Last of Us remastered, etc. Plus I can buy a 360 for $20 and have 100% compatibility instead of about 30% compatibility if I really want to play old 360 games.

In the end, new quality exclusives are what matters. The rest is fluff, and base XB1 vs. PS4 hardware-wise PS4 is ahead anyway. Scorpio could have a 1080ti in it and it won't help if there aren't fun must-have exclusives. And Halo 5 showed how name alone isn't enough for an exclusive. Halo 1/2/3 were amazing groundbreaking must-haves, Halo 5 was a pretty dull uninspired rental at best. Microsoft needs to worry less about E3 trailers and more about the gameplay and engaging storylines that made their big ips great. Quantum Break was a good example of why.

Really not a bad list, only one thing takes away from it and that is the flip-side of things, which is PC enables so much of what an XONE does, and for cheaper usually. Eventually I can see Micro, for better or worse, completely marrying the two gaming ecosystems into one.

I prefer xbox one over ps4 for several reasons and i could care less what the trolls say.

1. xbox live is better than ps plus
2. the xbox one controller is better than ps4 controller
3. battery life is better in the xbox one controller
(i realize the ps4 controller is chargeable but it degrades pretty fast over time)
4. While xbox has fewer exclusives i love the exclusives xbox one does have such as halo, gears, forza, sunset overdrive, etc

So I gave up after 3 as the article is about as user friendly as an Xbox. Online are the same as for having to manually upload all your saves to the cloud... click the box it says... Auto Upload...

Cloud saves on xbox require gold they function near identical to the ps4.

Just keep moving the sticks. I don't care how far back you move those sticks. By any measure Xbox is losing and its losing handily. Even online there is a larger community to choose from with a diversity of options on PlayStation. I couldn't choose a more dominating way to win this generation than what PlayStation has done. I predicted this domination at the outset. It has even exceeded all my expectations. It's on another level.

Biggest pile of poo I ever heard in my life. I agree with some but not all, let me break this down...

1. Backwards Compatibility
Ain't even true BC. Even if you have the disc of the 360 game which is supported, you still have to download the entire game. Imagine 10-15+ years into the future when the Xbox One/S becomes a retro console, do you think Microsoft will support the server for it? These BC games will become redundant. The 360 will be the retro console for 360 games.

2. Cloud Storage
I laugh at that. With the PS4 you have the ability to store your save on the console, USB or cloud. I can easily take the cloud save with me anywhere lol same goes for the save data on the USB drive (plug and play) lol.

3. Superior Shooters & Racers
Haha. Halo: MCC was the biggest disaster in gaming history! Should have got a FGOTY award! Should have been buried where they dug out E.T game in MEXICO. Halo ain't what it use to be after 343i took over. Halo 4, Halo: MCC, Halo 5 and now Halo Wars 2. Look at how all of a sudden Bonnie Ross stated split-screen will be coming back, clowns to be honest. However Forza I'd defo say that is a great racing gaming. I have played Forza series, gran turismo, drive club, project cars etc. Forza is by far I personally think superior to any other racers, it's a quality game hands down.

4. Xbox Play Anywhere
Nice feature but Microsoft don't have many first party exclusives games, heck even third party exclusive games. Also Xbox Play Anywhere works only with DIGITAL copy so if you purchase disc it's a no no.

5. TV Integration and 4K Blu-Ray Support
TV Integration haha. The 4K Blu-ray player is a bonus! A standalone 4K Blu-ray cost a lot.

6. EA Access
This is a nice app to rent and play EA games however not the latest games. I personally think this should be part of the Xbox Live subscription rather than an additional purchase.

7. Online
The Xbox has better network hands down. Last generation I was a 360 gamer (launch date). Since owning a PS4 from launch date I've had more downtime on PSN than the entire lifespan of 360. The PS4 might have many game but the network needs to be better or else the experience won't be great.

How the hell did he come to conclusion that you have to manually push saves to cloud? What about racers? First party titles(if we forget magically tons of third party titles:-) ) forza and forza horizon vs drive club...soon gt sport. Really it looks like Microsoft paid article, sorry. Xbox sucks people. It's really hard to argue for this platform right now. PS4 also sucks, it's clearly inferior to the PS4 Pro master race. Everyone should upgrade so we can all enjoy superior frame rates and glorious high res graphics.

7 reasons... I am an avid and lifelong PlayStation fan, I owned an Xbox 360 and ditched my PS3 for the first 2-3 years of that gen... I don't particularly rate other Sony devices... I'd always go with apple or Samsung with phones, while I have had a Z range sony phone which was ok, so I'm not saying Sony is better, but as a brand... PlayStation is and always will be number 1. However, Xbox will absolutely always be massively relevant, and hugely important in the industry. Xbox Live and truly pushing gaming online on consoles, Achievements and many other things are largely due to XBox's influence. Sure, Sega was pushing online play for years before Xbox came along, even back on the genesis they had an on demand system, but Xbox really made it work in the way even Sony had to follow.

I'll be honest in my opinion though, these are the only areas Xbox is "better" than playstation in a gaming sense, I couldn't care less about 4k movie support on a console!

1. The control pad! One of the best ever, period!
2. Backwards compatibility, something the PS4 should absolutely have!
3. Xbox live & Games with gold are possibly overall a slightly better service, but its a really close call, both PSN and Live are perfected now, downtime and hacks aside, the core service is awesome!

And if I'm understanding it properly, the Xbox isn't currently plying games at 4k, it's media streaming is, movies etc. Xbox has started to feel more like a center of the home hub of media and less like a gaming console imo, and I don't see this as a good thing! Xbox 360 for this reason, will always, and you cant convince me otherwise, be one of the greatest consoles of all time and absolutely smashes the Xbox One and likely all future consoles from Microsoft!
