My achievement tracking isnt working right half the time, some games still do it while others dont. The achievements still pop on the games its not tracking but its just not showing any progress on them. It started a couple of months ago when achievements started popping on my W10 system (while having the Xbox app on) but they werent popping/showing on the X1 at the same time. Anybody know how to fix this or anything about it?

VincentCastle2648d ago

does the same to me, and i have no ideea why you got downvoted for asking a question. For me it does show after 20 minutes or so, or after i restart it, or just log out and back again. It might be the internet, mine isn't all that fast

dantesparda2648d ago

People are hyper sensitive and defensive about their systems around here (and most of the internet). But i was hoping someone would know something about this so i could fix it, but i guess not.

Nice indeed. Good to see MS making necessary improvements to the UI.

peewee110162648d ago

Yeahh soo good everytime i load into anything i have to sit for a loading screen. Or how stupid the UI is all together

Jon_Targaryen2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

The idea is good.. The way its implemented makes me wonder who engineered this thing? It's over kill for the most part. I think we all can agree that when one presses the guide button it feels like forever before the damn game takes us to the UI. Plus the ESRAM being so slow makes the UI unresponsive AF too!!!

kickerz2648d ago

You guys don't even have an xbox. The UI is totally fine

UntrainedN00B012648d ago

@Jon_Targaryen you do realise the ESRAM is not used for the dashboard UI. The dashboard uses the DDR3 Ram.....

Mrveryodd2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

Bull shit right there ... Never waited for shit ... More that 2 sec

Best UI? I think not since it's super slow and more like a Windows laptop instead of a gaming system.

Angerfist2648d ago

You dont even have an Xbox. Your Comment suggests that.

Where does it focus on having your games right there where you want them? Not a massive useless main window, a way to small right section, a lot of useless banners underneath, and then your pinned games at the very bottom, like they would be the least important thing on that box. Really?

And what's with the useless tabs. Why isn't there a full screen (second tab) with your complete games library?

Oh, and what's with the left side scroll menu, which all of a sudden changes the whole navigation pattern to something completely different? I don't know where MS is hiring their UI designers...can't follow simple design rules.

Why is the store so dog slow? Why can't MS have standard icon sizes? Why is there not all information on screen (like requires game X to run because it is actually an ADD ON!!!).

Why does it take sometimes 2 seconds pressing the X button to show the dashboard.

Why is there only one download stream? And why the hell does it stop when I play a game?

Why, why, why...is this supposed to be the Best UI???

Moe-Gunz2648d ago

I hate it. Very slow and too much all over the screen. It needs to be simplified.

moegooner882648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

UI is abysmal. Worst I have experienced. One of the reasons I ended up selling my Xb1

That1BluKid2648d ago

All these other comments saying the UI is terrible when Ps4 has the slowest and most boring UI there is lol. try playing a game and pressing the home button on ps4..prepare to wait 5 minutes haha! I started on ps4, went to Xbox and was amazed by how fast it all just is. But oh no anything good about xbox here has to be downvoted and jumped on

WeAreLegion2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

I'm doing it right now and it works instantly. What are you talking about? Do you mean PS3 or something?

loQon2648d ago

I own & love both consoles & the PS4 UI is a little faster & smoother for most every task. I still don't mind the XB1 UI at all but that's just the truth.

loQon2648d ago

@abnormalwierdo no, not my thing lady, lying's your thing. I love both systems equally & for different reasons. Be a sheep though like you are, baaa baaaaaaaaa

badz1492648d ago

@That1BluKid

"try playing a game and pressing the home button on ps4..prepare to wait 5 minutes haha!"

- not even 5 sec. TROLL!

"But oh no anything good about xbox here has to be downvoted and jumped on"

you spread so much BS and you wonder why you're getting downvoted! SMH

Razzer2648d ago

Bullshit . I have no idea about the xbox UI, but you are just making shit up about PS4.

rainslacker2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

Never waited 5 minutes here. Press the home button, goes almost instantly to the UI with no issue. Press it again, and it pops right back to the game, with no hesitation.

The Xbox UI, for almost every task, there is a delay while it loads. It's not as bad as some of the people above make it out to be, but it certainly isn't instantaneous, maybe a couple seconds for most routine tasks, and on occasion, there is a bit of loading which seems to take more time than it should. Certainly isn't as fast as MS showed it off as at the reveal.

So your downvotes are because you're talking sh*t, not because you're saying something good about Xbox.

Sunny_D2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

That is some of the biggest BS I have ever heard. That's why the xbox subreddit had everyone complaining about how sluggish and unresponsive the Xbox ui is? They even compared it to the PS4 ui and agree it's slower than the PS4 ui.

Abnor_Mal2648d ago

@loQon my comment was not in regards to what you were saying, but rather what @That1BluKid said about the PS4 UI and him having to wait 5 minutes after pressing the home button. So um... I dont know what you're getting at and trying to be disrespectful.

Ju2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

Stop spreading FUD. Nothing what you said there is true. Better yet, get yourself an PS4, or even a Pro, and compare that against the XB for yourself.

those who replied negative are Sony fans. Just check their history.

Ju2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

Oh please. Sure, I had a PS most of the time, but I got me a BF1 XB1S bundle this weekend. And this is the typical XBoxer rethoric. "You are all Playstation fangirls and talk down to our beloved XBox", when i fact you should be the ones demanding a proper user experience from a multi billion $ company which loves to take your money. Just glorifying a broken UI isn't helping much.

ufo8mycat2648d ago

People who say the current XB1 UI is the best UI, obviously don't know what makes a great UI.
Great UI - Simplified, easy to navigate, quick & responsive, not a mess.

The XB1 UI fails with every one of those. That's just simply a fact.

Mehmeh2648d ago

Clearly you should buy an Xbox one before stating things regarding it as "facts".

dumahim2648d ago

If it was so great, they wouldn't have to keep rearranging things.

Mehmeh2648d ago

^ im not saying it's flawless. That's on you given your comment. But it's far from what the other person above implies it is.
I find it quite decent.

Ju2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

^ and before you live in denial, you should probably try "the other system" which make the flaws pretty apparent. But hey, if this is what you have used all you live and have nothing else to go by, it's the greatest of all things, isn't it?

@kickerz
This. The Xbox One UI is fast , only some of the SnapApps take too long to load.

Sunny_D2648d ago

Xbox users have been complaining about all types of issues from unresponsiveness when switching tabs, to taking forever to snap a picture and overall sluggishness.

https://www.reddit.com/r/xb...

cfc832648d ago

Absolutely. Team xbox always enhance the xbox experience by constantly looking for ways to make the interface even better.

VincentCastle2648d ago (Edited 2648d ago )

nah, i got all consoles, and i must say best one is Ps4, because it is just so damn fast, and the games are easy to access, and now you can put them all in folders. I do like the xbox one UI, just wish it'd be a tad bit faster, maybe it will happen with the next upgrade.

Former Blizzard President Suggests Players Should Have Option to Tip Developers

Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra recently suggested an interesting concept that has sparked a debate among gamers - the idea of being able to tip developers after completing a game.

LG_Fox_Brazil4d ago

If I had a 100% way to be sure that this money would go to a fund or a reserve dedicated only to the guys who develop the games, be them designers, artists, programmers and so on, I could think about it.

But we all know that this 'tip' would only end up in a publisher's CEO pocket to buy a new yacht, so, no, I ain't tipping anyone anytime soon on this industry

neutralgamer19923d ago

Exactly these companies were raising money for good causes and gamers were donation and come to find out they are keeping a good chunk of be pie

PapaBop3d ago

Yeah tip your developer, 5% proceeds go to developer, 95% to the publisher or whoever. Isn't tipping for staff not making minimum wage? How about they just pay their developers properly and like you know, give them fair bonuses? Too much to ask from Blizzard these days, Kotick saw to that and is now laughing all the way to the bank.

MrDead3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

It's the t**ts at the top looking at ways to cut devs wages and get the players to tip them like waiting staff, and I'll guarantee a percentage is skimmed and kept by Activision Blizzard. This is 100% for shareholder and CEO playouts.

Popsicle3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I have to agree with this. On the surface tipping devs sounds like a great idea, but in the end it leads to pay cuts and subsidization of pay. Tips then become an expectation or the devs “can’t make a living.” Lastly, especially in the US, tip culture has gotten out of control, and it serves as an excuse not to properly pay employees. Sounds good but doesn’t end well.

drizzom2d ago

@ Popsicle

I think your right on the nose with how much tipping has become rampant. Instead of it being a relationship directly between the customer and the developer or employee, it now has a middle man ingrained in the system. DoorDash is one example. It ends up becoming a metric where the company can measure 'just how much more money you are willing to part with' before raising the price on the main product.

1Victor3d ago

Uh so they’re trying triple dip or more we buy the game that they’re already withholding/cutting content for dlc we was told that season pass would help the developers thrive we felt for it.
Now on top of all that plus their sales bonus they want tips enough is enough whatever happens to you create/built a good game get a bonus for sales milestones you care about your game and community we reward you with more sales not for doing 3/4 of a game then save the other 1/4 for dlc and passes after

raWfodog3d ago

The 'tip' is me buying your game in the first place.

S2Killinit3d ago

Very well said. If it was possible to send the money to either the developer or some organization for the betterment of gaming, sure. But we all know that will not be the case.

Rynxie3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

No, it would go to those on the top. They will still fire developers, have a bunch of microtransactions, raise prices of games and so on.

H94d ago

So they eventually don't pay their workers and depend on our tips to pay them like the case with waiters!

Deeeeznuuuts3d ago

That kind of practice is only normal in the states, as far as I know anyway, what a backwards system

H93d ago

No it's as well in a every country that wants to amercanize

bloop3d ago

Ireland is literally the first stop across the pond and we don't have a tipping culture. The only establishments here that would expect a tip are the tourist haunts that Americans visit. Other than that, you might tip in a restaurant as a sign of gratitude for great service and waiting staff would be paid a full wage anyway.

Rebel_Scum3d ago

Tipping is not customary iin most countries dude. Get a passport lol.

Jin_Sakai4d ago

Is this a joke? How about the big wigs giving up some of their pay for their hard working developers.

MrBaskerville3d ago

Maybe the CEO could earn his money based on tips.

mastershredder4d ago

good god. The devs are not baristas dude. Total 1% ideals. Fing Chadosaurus.

The Reason Sega Lost The 32-Bit War? The 32X, Says Yosuke Okunari

"The company was unable to focus enough on its main hope"

timeextension.com
ApocalypseShadow8d ago

Nope. Going back to the 32X as the reason Sega lost that generation doesn't go back far enough before the Saturn.

Sega executives need to blame themselves as to why Sega lost that generation. Not Saturn. Not 32X. Not Sega CD. Nope. Executives were the reason why. It wasn't the hardware. Those devices were either dropped early or released to soon resulting in a developer backlash the hurt the game catalog. They really shouldn't have been made at all because they should have planned their next move more carefully. It has nothing to do with the devices. Poor leadership decisions and lack of unity within the company are what happened.

Love how blame is always shifted away from what is the truth. Writing a book placing the blame on the 32X isn't the truth.

solideagle7d ago

I am pretty sure there are documentaries (Youtube) around it which highlights these points. I had Sega Mega drive and NES growing up but that's about it. I didn't even know there was a war going on between these companies but I do remember thinking why I can't play Sonic cartridge on Nintendo or Mario on Sega :D

FinalFantasyFanatic7d ago

I had the Genesis and the Saturn, also had the SNES and 64, I never got a Dreamcast for some reason, but I never saw one in the stores either.
