If it's not I'll freak the f**k out.

Minimox162854d ago

Yes Ps4!
it will be to much to ask a package of the first 2 for PS4 with 4 player split screen remaster 1080p 60fps? :$

_-EDMIX-_2854d ago

Probably.

guessing PS4, XONE, PC.

Summons752854d ago

I'm guessing riots will ensue if they announce any 3rd iteration before Half Life 3. I'd be down for L4D3 though.

zeal0us2854d ago

When it's officially announce by Valve then I'll get excited until then its business as usual.

Erik73572854d ago

All this means that it's in development not coming out

Asuka2854d ago

Yeah ill take it with a grain of salt because Valve has been particular with the number 3 for years. If it is true it better be a proper sequel because l4d2 felt like it should have been an expansion imo

Yui_Suzumiya2854d ago

I felt the opposite.. first game felt like half a game in comparison to the second :3

NarooN2854d ago

That's an odd sentiment seeing as how L4D2 literally recycled all of L4D1's content.

feedthereaper2854d ago

I feel the same way as SolidGear3. That L4D felt like a rough, half finished game to L4D2 which was the same gameplay but felt more finished.
However, I felt the multiplayer was simpler and more enjoyable in the original than it was in the sequel.

Those that say that L4D2 came out too soon after 1 and was just using the same gameplay with new features ,
It always seems to me that Valve always took too much of a blow with fans for it when you consider that Battlefield uses the same gameplay but different scenarios, FIFA uses the same gameplay mechanics and most of the changes are cosmetic, COD is literally the same as the previous game with new perks and weapons and bigger jumping, Forza games are the same every year but with a different update to the number of the cars......... so many big franchises having new "sequels" every single year with very little major changes evident and yet it was Valve and L4D franchise that got the abuse for it, and yet is the one game that could easily have created more locations, more weapons, more characters and more gameplay changes if allowed to progress at least 2-yearly.
And even more of a ridiculous thing for Valve to take notice off and shelve any further titles when you consider L4D2 came out the year BEFORE The Walking Dead TV show launched and its spinoffs, copycat TV shows, dozens of movies and other zombie games gaining huge popularity!

Now L4D3 may be on the horizon, but is it a little bit too late? Has 7 seasons of TWD, multiple TV shows, multiple movies, multiple zombie games already out there, are the public a bit bored with it all now and ready to move on to something new?

Erik73572854d ago

This screenshot obviously shows its in development but that doesn't mean anything with valve because we could probably never get it knowing them

Pandamobile2854d ago

L4D ended up being a free expansion for L4D2.

-Foxtrot2854d ago (Edited 2854d ago )

Yeah I hated how they literally changed the tone of the franchise aswell

L4D - A gritty, dark, gloom and doom survival game

L4D2 - Bright, over the top, colourful, humour zombie game

I mean using frying pans and the like to defeat Tanks for example...come on

The whole L4D2 boycott should have stuck because what Valve did was disgusting. They promised free updates and expansions to L4D and they didn't do it. They got people to buy the first game at full price despite lacking in content because they would update it for free. 7 months later a new game was shown off ready for the following year.

They literally killed the first game because it WASN'T made by them...they even got rid of the old survivors because they weren't Valves characters they were Turtle Rock Studios characters. Even going as far as making a DLC cross over expansion and comic to kill one of the main survivors and make them ride off into the sunset to Florida. Despite the fact in the first game they were going North to Canada.

They already official announced they were making it over 1 year ago.

Omg, yes please! L4D3 announcement would make my day.... Year.... Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yui_Suzumiya2854d ago

Year? LIFE? Looks like we've got another Valve employee here and he's leaking Half-Life 3 for a year from now! O_O

YodaCracker2854d ago

Didn't think there was even half a chance during my life of L4D 3 coming out.

FlyingFoxy2854d ago (Edited 2854d ago )

Same, I'm a massive fan.. L4D2 and KF2 are really my only played games these days on Steam.. Can't wait for L4D3 and i hope it's a much bigger upgrade than L4D2 was compared with L4D1.

Source 2 Engine goodness baby!

HD8bit2854d ago

I made a portion to valve a few years ago to ask for L4D3. It would be so great on these new machines! The tension as you push forward w your team.... so good! I play on console so I think it would be epic if they would just give us access to some more player created levels at least.

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN5h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos3h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

PassNextquestion8h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger5h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto7h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos7h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long4h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel6h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator5h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

H91d 2h ago

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.
