I thought it was actually a pretty great boss fight, more original than the 'shoot the glowing weak point on the baddie' that you usually see. Mind you, beating him on crushing was an exercise in patience and perseverance, totally made the Platinum feel rewarding.

What's hard to understand it's two games made by the same development studio with the newest one uc 4 said to be better than their previous best game tlou.

What's so hard to understand? It means this particular person enjoyed it more than TLOU. Damn ppl love to defend the fuck out of this game, its a masterpiece yes, but that doesn't mean another game can't surpass it.

I hope it's better obviously. But uc4 is sill fresh and new,tlou we finished years ago .So of course in the moment, you may feel uc4 is better. It probably is better. But let's wait a year, look at it objectively.

no I didn't mean that,what I mean is when playing two great games,one you had beaten years ago and one that just came out,of course the newer may feel a little better cause it's still fresh on your mind.

Haven't seen DLB post for a couple days. I think the hammer might have fallen what with stealing YouTube footage and posting it up as his own. A lot of the troll comments make it interesting to me as you can taste the tears the game is getting from them. They know this game is going to kick ass and take names. But it really doesn't bother me I can read spoilers and still fully enjoy a game.

I don't hope that any ND games gets bad scores or anything...I pre-ordered the games months ago cause I know I like their games....I just wish people would come back down to earth a little when talking about their games. 6 months before release, people were CERTAIN it is GOTY....even today calling it GOTY is way pre-mature. This article just made me think about it because of how emotionally driven the title is...you can tell without ready that they aren't looking at it with an unbiased opinion, just and emotional one. That doesn't stop the game from being amazing...I guess my real problem this gen is how biased reviews have been. One game will get trashed that another game will get boosted for...and it's obvious. The scores don't add up with the supporting evidence. It's more like, "this game isn't the kind of game I usually play 4/10"

As opposed to you, who thinks that by default, Xbox exclusives should have been scored 10 points higher on the scale, and PS4 exclusives 10 points lower. Nobody is fooled by your attempts to paint yourself as multi-console genuine. The previous games were GOTY material. Every Naughty Dog of the past 7 years has been GOTY worthy. There isn't much that you can say to disprove this other than tenuous reasoning or flat out wilful ignorance. You say the scores don't add up with the supporting evidence, but you will never supply supporting evidence of your own.

Meanwhile, the impressions from folks playing early are more fleshed out and real than anything you can or will ever be able to offer to counterbalance why it will be a masterpiece. Naughty Dog has stepped its game up more than they ever have with any game in Uncharted 4. The previews show how they have expanded the formula in ways that drive the series forwards in new ways. The action gameplay is looking like some of the best ever in the genre. Yet here you are, pretending that the glowing previews and early review impressions are based on nothing.

I look forward to your damage control on the scores of articles that rate Uncharted 4 highly, and your pursuit of "fairness" on the lower scored ones. I don't expect you to even provide half-baked reasoning as to why Uncharted 4 won't deserve the scores. You'll just be there, being agreeable, without having played it.

I had this conversation with folks on this topic back last year. We had people thinking Quantum Break was more likely to be GOTY over Uncharted 4, and that it was more ambitious. Laughable that a game like that could even trigger such strong belief. I laugh at your adamance to offer the same doubt over Uncharted 4, as much as I did back then. You have supplied about as much here, as certain other Xbox fanboys did on the matter back then.

you should play more games. It's not a bad game, but it didn't do anything first or best. Not a bad thing, just highly over-rated is all.

So..... do you want to go through each review of The Last of Us with a tooth comb and tell me how those people's opinions are wrong? How what they described about the game and how the game made them feel doesn't make it as special as the game is?

You genuinely think that Xbox exclusives (some mediocre) that are lower rated than PS4 exclusives are underrated and deserve to be rated higher, whilst PS4 exclusives deserve a lower score. You're fooling nobody but those that don't know your intentions.

Absolutely.

It looks to me like every aspect of game design from previous Uncharted game has been seriously overhauled and notched up in ways that matter. And they've ported over lots of design philosophy from TLoU. It's hard to ignore that positive influence. It's their last Uncharted game... All I see is a passion for a studio to out-do themselves to make what they know is their last shot at the series as the best one yet, and to make it the closer to remember.

The things I said:

Uncharted is very very linear even to the point where you just walk very narrow corridors, corridors like Final Fantasy 13 style, you are supposed to play and adventurer and explorer of tombs but there is no exploration just narrow corridors with 1 possible path. The gameplay is very shallow, climbing or jump segments just have 1 way to go it is almost a disgrace to call this jumping or climbing, the shooting segments are also very shallow no different taktics needed because there is anways just 1 type of enemy with always the same behavior, always the same enemy just with a few different guns. And the Story of Uncharted is like a B-Movie like a Quatermain or Indiana Jones Film, I think no one ever could argue that Quatermain or Uncharted has a deep complex storyline lol.

The only real good quality of Uncharted and the reason why people play this games are the graphics and the graphics of a game are not that important for me I am not a casual gamer, i am not the type of gamer who plays games because of graphics.

Now just tell me what is not the truth about the things I said? What are the extraordinary qualitys of this IP beside the already mentioned graphics, i can't see anything.

Wide areas? Dude I played all Uncharted games till now and there are no really wide areas where you can do something, maybe the mountain village in Uncharted 2 but the player isn't going to do anything there just walk for like a minute not exploring anything with purpose or something like this, I tried to like this IP several times but I always went to the point where I came to the conclusion that this games are very shallow and the reason why people like this games are the graphics( Uncharted 3 will be the last game where I got fooled by this games I will never buy something of this IP again), there really isn't that much more to this games. If I want to play a game with good shoothing mechanics there are way way better games, if I want to play a game for a good story there are million times better games, if I want to play an adventure game for exploring like adventure games are supposed to be there are million time better games than Uncharted and if I want to play a game with good jumping. climbing or good puzzles than there are also million times better games, there are games where this parts are not shallow.

Thanks for your Reply JB this really helped me. It's really hard for me to wait untill the next E3 because im watching PS4 unboxing videos everyday! But you are right, its best to wait till E3 and take a look at possible newer versions of the PS4. I never knew there was an option to use other controllers on the PS4 so that deffiantely is a good thing to hear! One thing is for certain though, PS4 has everything that i want when it comes to Games. Have a good one.

I can understand why your Xbox One is collecting dust, im bored on my Xbox One aswell. Unless Microsoft blows me away with atleast 10 Xbox One Single player Exclusives im going PS4 and i highly doubt they will deliver games wise because they keep closing their Studios. Im not really into VR to be honest but that's alright, i might come to love it once it becomes a bigger thing. Im just extremely impressed with the Exclusives that SONY have. Uncharted and TLOU look Amazing and Single player games are very important to me because it helps me relax after a long day of studying / working. I do appreciate all the feedback from the N4G Community, i will wait for more news on the Neo for sure and will buy a PS4 in either June or maybe a bit later if the Neo releases later this year :) I have one more question if i may, is it possible to appear Offline on the PS4? And are there any Games that i should checkout for? (exclusives). thanks again.

Yeah appearing offline was just added in the latest update. Im sure youll also love "shareplay" and communities features (i love it!)

Yeah exclusive wise look out for "Wild", "Dreams", Shadow of the Beast all which will be releasing in the near future along with others. Newly released Clank Ratchet is really good, Mlb Tbe Show if you love baseball and Salt and Sanctuary. There are more but im blanking out lol oh also Until Dawn was really really good and i enjoyed Infamous.

The fact that you can appear Offline makes it extra sweet! I have already found someone to buy my Xbox One. Im a Master Prestige with Zombies on Blackops3, a bit sad that im losing my progress that i worked hard for but in the end it will be worth it once i get my hands on the exclusives and the games you mentioned :)

To say the very least, it's exciting. Very much so. I just don't want to walk away, thinking that, because I still like The Last of Us more, that Uncharted 4 is a disappointment. It's actually a lot like PS4 versus Xbox One sales where, just because the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One by a considerable margin, doesn't mean the Xbox One is selling poorly. It's actually doing quite well. Likewise, if Uncharted 4 doesn't beat The Last of Us, it doesn't make Uncharted 4 a failure by any standard. I think it's going to absolutely rock the house.

Heck, I'll still operate under the assumption that The Last of Us will be better.You really have to be an exceptional game in all capacities to beat it. Seriously, the accolades and universal reception is very tough to surmount. I doubt any game this generation is up for that task.

But hey, this is, after all, Naughty Dog. The average laws of gaming really don't seem to apply to them. They are truly a studio in their own league. Then they've got Straley and Druckmann who are simply outstanding. They seem more confident with Uncharted 4 than The Last of Us: they actually were very worried in development saying the game just wasn't fun or coming together. Lo and Behold, it exceeded even their own expectations. They seem pretty comfortable with Uncharted, so one can only imagine. Now that I've reasoned it out, "better than The Last of Us" actually seems probable now. Huh...how about that.

I hope so. Honestly, I do. There's kind of been this unfulfilled void since The Last of Us since I haven't played a game as engaging as it since I'd say Persona 4. People might hang me for that, but I honestly loved both of those games intensely. Persona, perhaps more thanks to its lack of linearity with how the story unfolds.

That being said, Uncharted 4 has some incredible shoes to fill, but it can be done. Dog-speed, Naughty Gods.

Better than Uncharted 2 AND The Last of Us?

I honestly cannot fathom a game like that. I'll believe it when I play it and finish it. Definitely sounds like they stepped their game up, but honestly. The narrative for The Last of Us alone is very compelling; arguably the best story in a single iteration I've ever played (I say single because the Metal Gear saga is also very gripping for me).

Personally, I'm somewhat afraid to play Uncharted 4 now. I might have to sit for about an hour staring at a wall if I think it comes together better than Snake Eater. That is my favorite game of all time and still is following The Last of Us. A game better than both combined definitely sounds like they're on a post-game high. Perhaps we can generally accept the idea that "The Last of Us has some serious competition".
