New York born filmmaker David Gelb has made a splash with his debut feature documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi, which chronicles the life and methods of acclaimed sushi chef Jiro Ono who at 85 years of age still stands tall as the master of his craft with his restaurant awarded 3 Michelin Stars.
David Gelb spoke to Matt’s Movie Reviews about making Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
David Gelb and Disney's "Stan Lee" is a sweet yet flawed and watered-down documentary about the Marvel creator’s life that becomes more interested in the superheroes rather than Lee himself.
THR Heat Vision:
Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass will star in Reawakening, a Lionsgate horror thriller being directed by David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Sushi).
Jason Blum of Blumhouse is producing the project along with Mosaic Media Group.
Written by Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater, the story centers on a research team that discovers a way to bring the dead to life. When the lead doctor’s daughter dies, she is given the serum, which leads to horrifying results.
as long as olivia wilde is in it i will go see and watch it but i wont hold my expectations high so if it will be good i will be in a surprise rather than expecting more and feel unsatisfied at the end.
Olivia Wilde has been in so much, but she hasn't really made much of an impact and become a major star. She's somewhat forgettable a lot of the time.
The year is winding down and yours truly has been catching up on all the limited releases of 2012 since just about all the marquee flicks have been screened. The Guilt Trip is the only notable wide release that got ranked while documentaries Marley and Jiro Dreams of Sushi received some play time this past weekend. And the top ten was given another shuffle.
