Rodrigo Santoro Talks 300 Spin-off 300: Battle Of Artemisia; Says Filming Begins in July

The Collider:
While attending the press junket for What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Steve got to sit down with actor Rodrigo Santoro, who talked about reprising his role as the God-King, Xerxes, in the upcoming 300 spin-off, 300: Battle of Artemisia. Originally based on the Frank Miller comic, “Xerxes,” the script has evolved to focus on an Athenian protagonist taking on the Persian king in a setting that parallels that of the original 300. Santoro commented on the progress of the shoot, how it might be filming in Bulgaria, the overall story and the challenge of returning to play Xerxes again. Check out our previous coverage of 300: Battle of Artemisia here.

I'm really hoping that this is as outstanding as 300. The story itself is suppose to be really good. The history channel has done a bit on it so even if it's just even close to what they have done on there it will be very interesting.

I kinda laughed at how insulted the History channel got when 300 came out. A bunch of old guys angry about a film not being 100% accurate. >_>

But yeah, 300 was a really good movie imo, hope the spin-off is as good or better.

If the movie had been as accurate as the history channel it would have been even more violent and gory...it would not have been allowed to be shown in the theaters. What used to happen in those days no one now really wants to know or see.
