From TMP:
Not too long ago word came down that Jonathan Liebesman was in talks to direct the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. While I was excited for news about the film finally moving forward, I can't say I was overly thrilled with the choice of director. While not necessarily bad, there were a few other directors I think would do an awesome job with the Turtles reboot instead.
Franchises experience natural ebbs and flows in their popularity. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is no different, but it somehow manages to stay relevant.
When it comes to Jonathan Liebesman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), there are a lot of mixed feelings toward the movie.
Everyone's favourite heroes in a half-shell are back with a brand-new animated film titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
I would like to see this done but only if they do it right. I don't want anyone coming up with weird ideas that they think are going to work but will only impress a small amount of fans.
I just want my Turtles back. The first movie was so awesome and done incredibly well. There's a wealth of great stories in the TMNT universe.
Hopefully Liebesman will do a good job, but I can't help but feel he's a little inexperienced in this area.
Zach Snyder and Brad Bird would be interesting. However personally don't want the Turtles to be a stereotypical martial arts movie....Peronally I have no interest in those, and making the turtles one wouldn't change my mind.
