Joss Whedon Would Still Consider A Return To The Firefly Universe

CBM:
Before taking on Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers, there was another ensemble that Joss Whedon brought to the big screen - the cast of cancelled TV show Firefly in 2005's Serenity. Here are his thoughts on returning to the universe.

Oh what I would give for that to come true. There is all sorts of stories he could pursue on the characters to bring them back to tv or a movie. There is still so much that went unknow about them.

Some day I would love to see at least another Serenity movie and see them 5 10 yrs down the road and where each one ended up after the end of the last one. There are so many questions.

serenity is easily one of my favourite movies, i'd love to see a sequel, dont think it will happen though.

Yeah I would love to see it come back for a movie. As much as I would love to see the show... it won't happen unless they continued after season 1 and not after the movie otherwise a few people wouldn't be around.

The good reason why this *could* happen is the cast have a soft spot for whedon. Most who work with him would be happy to work on new projects with him as he makes a family out of his shows.

We can only dream aye...

I could live without it, but I also wouldn't mind the return of Firefly.

You cant bring the old characters back. Some are too old to play their old rolls and bring back only part of the crew would get in the way of any new story.

But that's okay I have new characters that move the dynamics around AND present different archtypes.

Ship has sailed on rebooting this TV series really. I could handle a one-time revisit with a Serenity 2, but I don't think bringing back Firefly would be possible, or even that great of an idea really.
