Rogers to Explore On-Demand Movie Simulcasts

By every account, the release late last year of Margin Call, a motion picture starring Kevin Spacey centred on a fictional Wall Street bank brought low by reckless bets during the financial crisis, was a smash success.

The distributor, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., picked up the title for US$1-million at the Sundance Film Festival, releasing the picture months later with many traditional theatrical partners.

I love this idea of having movies in my living room instead of going to the theaters but they can;t go the way that the US providers did by slapping a $50 price tag on it. Furthermore, I see this as a huge step towards pirates having the ability to provide new movies in high quality much sooner than they can now.
