THR:
The two films lead a record-busting weekend, continuing the box office recovery; "Journey 2" races past "Star Wars: Phantom Menace" to nab $27.6 million.
The North American box office continued its recovery in a big way over the weekend as Screen Gems and Spyglass' The Vow, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, grossed a massive $41.7 million.
Universal’s Denzel Washingon-Ryan Reynolds starrer Safe House wasn't far behind, grossing 39.3 million. Both films vastly overperformed, driving the weekend up more than 30 percent over last year.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
I guess those are pretty good numbers but I would expect that Safe House would have won out. Although knowing women and knowing that it was the weekend before Valentines Day, they probably roped their boyfriends, husbands, and whoevers to see The Vow this weekend instead of Safe House.
Me....If it hadn't been so feaken cold, I would have gone to see Safe House but I stayed in where it's nice and cozy.
