Michael Keaton Meets About Beetlejuice 2, Seth Grahame-Smith Offers Update

Shock Till You Drop met up with Seth Grahame-Smith about his upcoming film, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (which he penned) in St.Louis. While there, they received the latest update on Beetlejuice 2, the follow-up film the writer is involved with at Warner Bros and that Tim Burton will shepherd.

Shock asked him for the latest on the project and to see how close the sequel was to becoming a reality. "It's a reality in the sense that I met with Michael Keaton last week," Grahame-Smith told us. "We talked for a couple of hours and talked about big picture stuff. It's a priority for Warner Bros. It's a priority for Tim. Right now, I am writing an animated movie for Tim based on an idea of mine. Then I adapt Unholy Night [based on the upcoming book]. The third I am hoping is Beetlejuice in terms of writing schedule."

Beetlejuice was okay but isn't it a little late in the game for a seguel? It's been so long ago when they made the first one...I know people are interested in it but I don't think it would do as well as the first one did.

At what point can the general public step in and say, "You CAN'T do that!"?!?

You know they don't listen to us. As long as they think they have a money maker they will do it.

*sigh*

I wish Michael Keaton would at least listen to us. He is a brilliant actor/comedian. It's a shame he hasn't done much lately.

Yes...I remember when he used to do a lot of movies and now he doesn't. Maybe he's just decided he doesn't want to work anymore and is more selective of his projects but if that is the case.....you would think he wouldn't do this one.

his only recent memorable performance was in the other guys

Yes...that was a long time ago too. Maybe he invested well and is doing things behind the camera now and taking life easy.
