Matt Lieberman to Write Dimension Films' Remake of 'Short Circuit'

The redo of the 1986 robot movie will be directed by "Hop's" Tim Hill.

Matt Lieberman has been signed by Dimension Films to write Short Circuit, a remake of the 1986 movie about a runaway robot.

Tim Hill, who helmed Hop and Alvin and the Chipmunks, is attached to direct the feature, which is aiming for a summer 2013 release that will be aimed at the family audiene.

I remember this movie a little. It might be good with all the new technology and all that they use to make movies now that they didn't have in 1986.

Surely they wouldn't use the same actors. I think for this they would bring in some new young actors and just begin all over again with it or at least that's what I hope they would do.

I mean for like a guest appearance, like if he played the military general as a nod to him being in the original.

Like Mark Goddard, June Lockhart, Marta Kristen, and Angela Cartwright, were in the Lost in Space movie as bit characters.
