Fox Loses Appeal to Overturn R-Rating on 'This Means War'

The Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy comedy received the restrictive rating for "some sexual content."

The Classification and Rating Appeals Board on Thursday upheld the R rating bestowed McG's comedy This Means War, which 20th Century Fox opens on Valentine's Day.

This Means War -- starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy -- was assigned the restrictive rating for "some sexual content." Fox was appealing in the hopes of lowering the rating to PG-13.

I think they will still get a good audience because it is going to be Valentine's Day and a good date movie...I think it's going to be very funny with lots of action too.

I'm sure they knew they could make even more money with a PG13 but that's just the way it goes sometimes.

I just submitted the latest and it seems that all that was holding them back was Chelsey Handler's diry jokes so they cut them out and it's going to be rated PG13 now.
