The Collider:
As the beginning of January saw the box office smash, and subsequent fall, of the found-footage exorcism pic The Devil Inside, the sequel to another film in the “found-footage exorcism movie” genre is moving full speed ahead. We first heard movement on the follow-up to 2010’s The Last Exorcism last August, but now the sequel has a director, star, and new rating. Ed Gass-Donnelly (This Beautiful City) will direct the untitled sequel, which begins production next month in New Orleans, and instead of sticking with the original’s PG-13 rating, the sequel will be going R. Hit the jump for story details, and to find out what’s behind the rating switch.
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.

Stolen Review: Elle Márjá Eira makes an attempt at creating a story revolving Sámi people of Sweden.
This is a surprise seeing how there was so much controversy about The Devil Inside. I know it made a lot of money but people also came out of the movies saying it was aweful and not worth the money to go see it.
The first movie was a PG-13!? I'm 24 and couldn't stop thinking about the ending for ages...but then again I get obsessive about reading into demonic rituals etc. Can't wait for the sequel.
I really dug the first film. I remember skipping on it in theaters because I thought it looked pretty bad. The trailers didn't sell me on it. Then I rented it from Blockbuster and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
I'm not too shocked a sequel is on the way after the success of The Devil Inside, but I am surprised with the rating change. I'm always for R-rated horror, but the first did fine with its PG13 rating.
Am I the only one that hated the end of the first one? I was really into it for most of the movie. Then it took this supernatural twist and just became all but awful. That ending ruined the movie for me.
