Fox Accuses The Muppets Of Brainwashing Our Kids With Communism

Rob Thomas of CFD! writes:

"File it under “Slow News Day” or just plain ol’ “Batsh*t Crazy,” but Fox Business Network’s “Follow The Money” must have been hurting for content when they decided to run this bit, invoking the specter of Joseph McCarthy by claiming that the recently released film The Muppets is teaching our children pro-Communist, anti-capitalist values."

I saw the movie. That oil dude ("capitalism") is pretty damn evil. He hates the Muppets!

buddymagoo4522d ago

Well the current system isn't exactly working.

Psychonaughty4522d ago

True but it's still the best system the world has ever seen, it just needs better accountability.

The alternative that seems the most popular atm is socialism and even Putin has enough wisdom to realise that it just doesn't work. Ask those in North Korea, oh wait you can't...

"still the best system the world has ever seen"

I think you are getting confused, that was industrialism. Capitalism is just a plague.

RememberThe3574522d ago

Well we haven't seen any very good economic systems yet so saying that capitalism is the best really isn't saying much. A system that lets as many people shine as possible is the best, what ever you call it the focus needs to be on prosperity for the society not not the elevation of the "elite". How ever we go about achieving that will be the best system, whatever you choose to call it.

GanjaMan4522d ago

The whole of the media world is out to brainwash people not just this!

pomoluese4522d ago

How dare a movie try to do more than entertain. But this is really ridiculous the muppets have always been smart what other kind of villain are they going to have during this time?

ShadowPraxis4522d ago

What I found most upsetting about it is how they seem to completely disregard the classic movie/tv stereotype of the evil, greedy tycoon and turn it into a political issue.

Yes, because every person with money is altruistic and selfless. Right.

cjflora4522d ago

There are plenty of villians they could choose from today. Maybe an evil president who's trying to destroy the country?

Kurylo3d4522d ago

or may be the villain can be a group of rich people who are trying to stop a great president who is trying to protect the people of this country against greed and deception.

Drekken4522d ago

Kurylo3d, Obama is the worst president to date. Great? LMFAO!!!!!!!

bebojet4522d ago

@Drekken

He's not the greatest but he's making an effort. What have the Republicans done lately to better the situation? NOTHING.

BlackTar1874522d ago

STFU with this nonsense.

WHAAA REPUBLICAN DEMOCRAT WHAWWWW you guys are the problem nothing else.

LarsoVanguard4522d ago

Drekken, back up what you said with a fact. Kurylo3d is right. No one man can fight the American corporate machine. You are a brain dead sheep.

cjflora4520d ago

Doesn't it also require some proof that he's done anything worth while? Spouting that rich people (which he happens to be) are evil is not an effort.

of course, because i believe everything fox news says, death to the muppets >_<

end of sarcasm : D

Hufandpuf4522d ago

A LOT of cartoons brainwash kids. Communism is the least of the world's problems.

SKUD4522d ago

Its a great distraction tool. And a great way to turn people against you without any proof. All you have to do is say it and point your finger.

Pozzle4522d ago

It must suck being such a joyless adult that you can't just enjoy something as harmless as the Muppets.

"I know it's easier to portray a world that's filled with cynicism and anger, where problems are solved with violence. That's titillating. It's an easy out. What's tougher is to offer alternatives, to present other ways conflicts can be resolved, and to show that you can have a positive impact on your world. To do that, you have to out yourself out on a limb, take chances, and run the risk of being called a do-gooder." - Jim Henson
