The second season of The Walking Dead has been a rather slow-paced experience without too much focus. Capsule Computers' go in depth on what The Walking Dead needs to stop doing and what it needs to starting doing. Follow the link to check it out.
Love Walking Dead Season 2, great article love that pic used. That Zombie is from Season 1 ;)
It certainly is. I love how the pic emphasizes that the zombies are slow that Rick can walk up and take a picture with it.
Well that is what happens when you fire your entire writing staff...
The mid-season finale has been the highlight of this season so far.
Yes it was amazing!
Cant help but feel cheated some how
So I hear that the dead can walk.
well they can and some of them can run and climb too, but remember one thing they like to eat your intestines and brains so be carefull ;)
I used to watch Walking Dead then all the zombies took an arrow in the knee.
Meh, tired of Zombies
1st Was the Poker boom on ESPN 2nd was the MMA explosion with the UFC on Spike 3rd the zombie genre blowing up with the release of L4D and the remake of Dawn of the Dead, and then the COD zombie modes taking it further. I remember back in the day hoping for a 4th Romero movie after "Day of the Dead" came out. Never imagined his vision to explode into what it is now. If only he patented the "shot em in the head" zombie genre.
Well when Romero started he wasn't intentionally using zombies, everyone else identified them as zombies and then he was like, well alright then. Even he jumped the shark.
This season sucks. Way too much time is spent on the farm, a location that is nothing more than a brief stop over for the comics. If you read the comics you'll know where they'll eventually end up and that's where all the real drama happens.
I agree. I missed every episode after the first. Just started watching it and 6 episodes later they are still on the farm. I love the show still and the excitement is still there, but i ant them off the farm now
WOWOWOWOWOW wasnt this season supposed to be 12 episodes? Just when we found out what we all knew all along the season ends???? What a hunk of Crap, I think I'll just stick to the comic books till the writers decide to write something better again. Bastards EDIT: According to Wiki the next episode (episode 8 "Nabraska") will air next year on 12 Feb http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
I guess you didn't hear "Mid-season finale" the 10 times they said it during the broadcast.
The last time I heard about a mid season finally in a TV show it ended completely for that season. "Two and a half men" and "The Cape" come to mind
i thought it was great, of course here on n4complain everybody hates it....
Most people don't seem to understand that it's not a traditional Zombie story. It's not supposed to focus on the Zombies and that Zombies eat people. It focuses on the people involved and the ways they change in the new world.
yes i agree here but they have done a pretty decent job at it so far. Season 1 for me was really well done. I had a lot of elements from a lot of diffent places, (video games and film) season 2 was a little slow but i think they are just trying to spread it out so they can make more seasons from it. I personally dont like how they slowed it down but i hope it picks up when it returns.
I agree with all the points in this article, I think the pace of this season has been too slow.
I dont think people understand. The transition from the book to show just wouldnt work due to the speed it takes. A TV is ment to be slow. To build a story. Not even including the fact that shane died in the book in the first couple pages, and Darrel doesnt even exist in the book. They kept them in the TV to CREATE story. It helps in making a show worth watching. I'm enjoying what they are doing with it.
Here's a counter arguement...season one had almost no character back story to show where the characters have been and give an idea of where the characters are going. Season two let's you look at all of the characters in depth. Next season they won't have to focus as much on back story because they got it out of the way.
My point being this season is all about the viewer connecting to the characters and feeling their pains and frustrations. Very few shows actually do an effective job at grounding the characters and easily relatable/identifiable.
All in all season two is a different beast than season one. Part one was all adrenaline, part two was the catch your breath moment.
A good story is like a roller coaster ride it picks you up and then brings you down over an over again.
Seriously are you connecting with any of the characters in the show? Are you feeling their pain and frustrations? Because personally I'm really starting to despise everyone of them, and except for Daryl I just wish they'd all die so we can get some new guys/girls to follow.
Actually I have connected to many of the characters. I've been around all different walks of life and know that your going to despise people and is something you learn to deal with. The question you need to ask yourself is why do you despise the characters, is there reason behind their behaviors. Season two has really filled in the blanks for why each character behaves the way they do. Daryl and Glen are my favorites and so is Rick. I like others but I understand by Ricks buddy...can't remember his name right now is such an ass. The show is not about the zombies or the end of the world it's about how we deal with demons that afflict human nature. It's like Real World meets zombies...everyone has to get along to stay alive or you all will die. Season one was great because it showed the conflict and how nasty life and people can be but season two pulls the characters past in so you can understand them better. This doesn't mean you have to like them but simply understand what feeds the actions that they take.
