Ramping up its stateside theatrical distribution business, Entertainment One has acquired the U.S. rights to Special Forces from Studiocanal.
The Canadian distributor snapped up all rights in English, French and Spanish for the Stephane Rybojad-directed action adventure picture about a French journalist kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

On paper, this one has Oscar written all over it. Entertainment One has acquired worldwide rights for the upcoming Lee Miller biopic starring Kate Winslet.

Entertainment One is planting another flag for its overseas distribution network, setting up a new outpost in Germany. This adds to the existing markets where it releases movies: Canada, the UK, Australia/New Zealand, Benelux and Spain. The first title expected for release by eOne in the German market is the Jose Padilha-helmed Entebbe, from Participant and Working Title, and starring Rosamund Pike and Daniel Bruhl.

Entertainment One has partnered with Israel-based Armoza Formats to co-produce Sex Tape, a provocative new hour-long social experiment reality series for the U.S. market.
With that budget it will be interesting to see if they make a really good movie.
