Michael Shannon is hoping that Russell Crowe has recovered, following their screen tussle in Man Of Steel.

The Take Shelter star, who appears in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot as villainous alien General Zod, put his Australian co-star, who plays Superman’s biological father Jor-el, through his paces in the hotly-anticipated fight scene.

“I think he’s out of the hospital, although I left as soon as he couldn’t get up off the floor,” he joked. (Cinema, Man of Steel, Michael Shannon)
