Watch the Red Band Trailer for Goon

Comingsoon says

The Red Band trailer for Magnet Releasing's Goon has debuted at IGN and you can check it out in the player below.

Starring Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber and Alison Pill, Goon was written by Baruchel with Superbad and Pineapple Express scribe Evan Goldberg and tells the story of Doug Glatt (Scott), a dumb but loveable bar bouncer plucked from obscurity to be the enforcer for a minor league hockey team.

Goon will be available on-demand February 24, 2012 and in theaters starting March 30th.

This reminds me of a more modern Slap SHot which is a good thing. That is easily the VERY BEST sports movie ever made.

Best sports movie ever made? I wouldn't even begin to say that. Especially not with stuff like Rocky, Raging Bull, Hoosiers, The Natural, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Rudy, Brian's Song...and many more.

You can make a case for Best Sports Comedy. Even then I'd have it falling short going up such movies as A League of Their Own, Bad News Bears, even Caddyshack.

Slap Shot was good, but even in the realm of hockey movies I still preferred Miracle and Mystery, Alaska.

Hey I'm a Canadian. We eat sleep and breath hockey 365x24x7. I love Rocky and even the Bad News Bears but if I had to pick between the 2, I'd take Slap Shot.

This looks like it could be a fun movie. Though it definitely seems like a quirky comedy. That just reminds me (well obviously of Slap Shot) but another quirky sports comedy like this that Sean William Scott did called Balls Out. That, while funny in parts, wasn't that good.
