While at the AFM we caught a sneak peak at the full trailer for Paco Plaza's [REC] 3 Genesis, which will open in Spain March 30, 2012. The footage was outstanding taking the scope out of te box and expanding it across an entire wedding reception. Also, it's worth noting that my logic dictates that the movie begins as one of the building attendants, who was not around in the first or second REC, is attending the wedding. Check out some newly scanned images inside.
Continuing his daily series of horror movie articles, FMV Magazine's Leon Nicholson looks at found-footage series [Rec].
Might give fans of the zombie genre exactly what they want, but the film itself is cliched, silly, and annoyingly unclear about how it wants to present itself.

the first REC was a pretty good low budget movie. For Rec 2 they added more action and military shooting at zombies in a building. And now Rec 3 is a total cluster*** of fail.
Really enjoyed [Rec} and [Rec]2 but this just looks awful. Disappointed they went in this direction.
Sean of The Daily Rotation wrote, "Director Paco Plaza, the undisputed king of found footage movies (so far) has come back to the well for a third [REC] film, as we follow the outbreak of a strange virus that turns regular people (and as we learn in this film, most importantly, animals) into bloodthirsty monsters looking for people to feast on. Both [REC] and [REC] 2 focus on an apartment building where emergency personnel are trying to make sure the virus doesn’t spread beyond the building. The insane intensity and surprise twists have kept fans coming back to the series, both for the sequel, [REC] 2 and the American remake Quarantine starring Jennifer Carpenter, which even spawned a direct-to-video sequel Quarantine: Terminal. While that film seems like it was mostly forgettable, [REC] 2 was a fun continuation of the series, and a cool look at the story’s progression from the first film."
Hmm. I liked the 2 first movies, but I kind of lost interest in the story line when the cause of the virus was revealed. It just seemed silly to me. Hope they can make it scary again in this sequel...
