Deadline says:
Hope Davis has landed a role in the Disconnect, the Henry Alex Rubin drama that also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Max Theriot, Andrea Riseborough, Frank Grillo, Paula Patton and Jason Bateman.
Jeremy of The Daily Rotation wrote, "It’s that time of year again! We’ve reached the halfway point (well almost; July is just a week away), which means it’s time for me to break it down and give you my top ten films of 2013 so far."
Jeremy of The Daily Rotation wrote, "Director Henry-Alex Rubin‘s latest drama Disconnect is a slam dunk character ensemble that unfolds in spectacular fashion, constantly leaving you on the edge of your seat, waiting to find out what happens next. Disconnect uses its layered approach to peel back at the importance social media has on our society and how everyone wields this uncontrollable power in the palm of their hands with the simple click of a button on a keyboard or the pressing of the screen on a smartphone. Disconnect fuses social media into the storytelling process while also shedding some light on just how important it is to understand the consequences that come from the simplest actions."
indie films are surprisingly good most of the time with unique stories, by the look of it, this movie might be as well.
"Disconnect" interweaves three emotional potboiler storylines about people searching for human connection in today's wired world of the internet. By turns comic, harrowing and touching, "Disconnect" explores the consequences of living life everywhere but right where you are.
