The Gantz movie pushe’ all the wrong buttons for the manga readers that know how brilliant the story is. All the gore, sex, nudity and overall coarseness are what make Gantz more enjoyable and sadly the movie has none of that. It is at this point that I would defend the movie by saying that individuals who didn’t read the manga would enjoy it. Sadly that’s not the case, the Gantz movie is just a confused mess, (yepp! that’s how bad it is), with cool graphics of course. This is the reason why we were staying away from the movie for so long, it’s our incessant fear of being disappointed and movie adaptations are definitely on our blacklist.
