Classic? Travesty? Groundbreaking? Overrated?
Everything about Scarface is debatable. True, that statement can be said about any movie, but Scarface is debated from top to bottom. The men behind the camera and the cast in front do a great job of revolutionizing Howard Hawk’s original masterpiece and making it relevant in the 80’s culture that was truthfully swimming in cocaine. Tony Montana has lived on as an icon and whether you personally feel the movie garners praise, you have to admit it deserves the attention it receives for setting the bar on non-glorified Italian mob movies.
