Russian Film "Faust" Takes Top Prize in Venice

Russian director Alexander Sokurov's Faust won the Golden Lion for best picture at the Venice film festival. It tells the tale of a professor, played by Johannes Zeiler, who craves knowledge and sells his soul for the love of a woman, played by Isolda Dychauk. Apparently, the weak global economy has altered the value of souls too.

The story is too old to be commented.

Crazy Russians: selling a soul for the love of a woman. I mean, them and Brendan Fraser in Bedazzled.
