Top 10 Best Westerns

Kevyn Knox writes:

"From the early silent westerns to the classic Hollywood period to the darker psychological works that came around in the 1950′s and the Spaghetti Westerns of the 1960′s that ushered in a whole new revisionist period in the genre to the modernist and post-modernist westerns of recent years, the western has been the truest of all American film genres."

I have just never cared for westerns. I don't know why, but they never struck a chord with me. My dad loves them though, so he'll get a kick out of this list.

Neither, however 3:10 to Yuma is really good.

Yeah, pretty good movie, I almost forgot about it

darklordzor4617d ago

Yeah, don't get me wrong, there are some that I'll watch, but in general, I'll never go out of my way to see one.

I loved certain ones but never the ones with John Wayne for some reason. I agree with The Good, Bad,Ugly being #1 but #2 should have been How The West Was Won. Also 3:10 To Yuma should have been included.

There were alot of westerns made back in the day but not very many were really awesome...they were just ordinary but every once in a while one would stand out. I can watch those 3 westerns just about anytime.

I have not seen The Good, Bad & the Ugly... honestly never even heard of it. It's 24 years older than me though so I'm not surprised.

You've not seen good, bad, ugly.. man, you're missin on some real western shit. It beats every western movie out there.... by miles!!

alycakes4617d ago

Oh, man you don't know what you're missing if you haven't seen that movie. It doesn't matter how old you are or how young you are...I think everyone I know has seen and loves that movie. It's a classic....including the music. It's even one of my son's favorite. One day you need to just take the time and watch it.

That good huh? I'll give it a download then. I'd watch it right now if I didn't have a hardcore migraine. Maybe tomorrow.

Can't say it's my favorite genre but I enjoy enjoy a good western. Makes you feel like a badass after =p
