Reel Time Review: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Reel Time:
The film is worth seeing. It isn’t what some might expect, but remember when the project was announced and we thought the well was dry. Then the cast was announced. We were skeptical. Then the trailers came out and eyebrows were raised. Now the film is here and it turns out the new Apes is above most expectations and one of the best films of 2011. Maybe it was because those expectations were low and Rise was under the radar. Perhaps. Ten years ago people thought Burton’s film was not the Planet Of The Apes revisit they were waiting for. If the wait isn’t over now, it’s close at it can get.
