This week in Gaming On Film we take a look at the most recent big Hollywood gaming adaptation, and arguably one of the best: 2010′s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
From Mortal Kombat to Sonic the Hedgehog, we've seen some great game movies! Here are the 10 highest-grossing video game movies of all time!
"I have always been very sceptical when I hear that there will be a movie made based on either a book or a video game. In my opinion movies based on books are a lighter task to tackle due to the fact that there is no set visual framework according to which movie creators have to work, they frequently have the freedom to manipulate the lines they’re required to colour in between."
The list could use some decent video game movie titles like final fantasy advent children which was really good. Another one is Mortal Kombat which was also good on it's time but it's sequel was garbage kinda like what happened to silent hill.
I won’t say that directors and writers ever get a video game movie right; it would be a miracle if that actually happened. However, I do think that some of them do get close, and I can accept that. So here are five movies based off video games in no particular order, which weren't all that bad; at least in my opinion.
DOA, Mortal Kombat, Prince of Persia, House of the Dead, and Resident Evil?
"5 Video Game Movies That Were Terrible"
Fixed the title for you :)
First Silent Hill movie not included?
Thought it stayed true with most of game's atmospheric and creepy nature plus it had a very good and poignant ending.
On the lists' I think it's only Prince of Persia and Resident Evil were sort of ok with the rest not so.
Game/Movie adaptations always seem to fail. I mean they keep trying, but it is still curious.
