‘Green Lantern 2′ Will Be Edgier; Flash Has Solid Script

Hero Complex/LA Times says:

Green Lantern may have a future on the big screen, but likely not with the same director.

Despite the big-budget superhero movie’s disappointing box office performance so far, Warner Bros. executives still want to find a way to make a sequel work. Bringing superheroes from its DC Comics unit to the big screen is a top priority for the studio, and executives believe that the problem with “Green Lantern” was in execution, not concept. They even have ideas on how to turn things around next time.

Just hand out more in space and take full advantage of the cast of character available to you. That's all. I liked the acting in the first flick (even Blake Lively, though her character was totally useless). I really only blame the film's problems on the script and story. It was a total mess. They had all the good elements but the story couldn't hold it together.

I never saw The Green Lantern but really want to. I think it's due out for release sooner than later so I guess that I'll have to wait for that.

darklordzor4643d ago

Yeah I think the rumors floating around are it'll be released on Blu-ray October 25th, so not too far really.

As long as the SCRIPT is better than I'll check out a sequel. The first one was so damn boring, when it should have been fun!

Green Lantern was a good movie, and that 53 million dollar opening was solid, and it has yet to open in all of its territories so we'll see there. I'm excited to see another go-around at it. Ryan Reynolds did a good job as Hal Jordan. DC should get more control like how Marvel has gotten more control over its films from Iron Man and beyond.

Totally agree. Also WB owns DC so its hard to get more control than that. WB studios just need to get their heads out of you no where and work with the comics and the DC side of thing. Why do they think the animated movies are so great?

Green Lantern really was pretty good. The problem is: it's green lantern. Most people don't know anything about him, and those who do might not have great impressions of him from other media. If they want to make more money, they have to make a good movie AND make some really awesome trailers. Make the public think it's going to be awesome and then deliver on that.

pretty good... man you have no taste...

Now that you mention it, I did see comments from message boards and forums and people thought Green Lantern was black because they watched Justice league Cartoon.
