Man of Steel Moved to Summer 2013

Coming Soon says:

Warner Bros. Pictures announced that Zack Snyder's Superman movie Man of Steel will be released in theaters on June 14, 2013 and not in December of 2012 as was previously believed.

No other films have been scheduled for that date yet.

Written by David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the anticipated film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix.

I really think this is for the best. Kind of sucks having to wait, but December 2012 is already so packed. I mean WB also has The Hobbit coming out then, so they'd be competing with themselves as well. Besides, it feels like it should be more of a Summer movie anyway.

I thought Superman should have been a summer movie as well. I wonder if it really is cuz of the saturated winter movie season, or maybe there is just that much work to be done. I am worried that the suit will be CGI like Green Lantern. I understand the need for the cape to be animated at times, but not the suit.

This makes sense to me to be honest. They also have The Dark Knight coming out that year, along with all the competing super heroes. It would be common sense to have Superman fighting off whatever Marvel puts out the following summer...

nooooooooooooooo my favourite superhero of all time damn oh well dark knight rises will be good along with the other superhero movies to tide over

i'll take this as a good thing gives more then enough time to continue workout before this movie comes out lol

He's my fave too and it's a huge bummer that he's been delayed but it's just going to give them team that much longer to make something special.

It's okay though. Maybe this way they will come up with a better quality film. They won't be having as much competition either. I do think it's for the best and I'm looking forward to this too. Superman has and always will be the number one superhero...I mean he was number one.

CobraKai4655d ago

He's my favorite as well. A lot has to do with Dick Donner's Superman. I will be disappointed as all hell if they don't sample John Williams musical score. That theme is as synonymous with Superman as the Bond theme is to James Bond. It doesn't matter who is directing it, they need it. Without it, something will be missing.

Totally agree...the musical score important. Once it's connected you can't just expect people to accept something else.
