WorstPreviews:
Today we have the poster for "The Iceman," which is based on the true story of Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski and stars James Franco, Michael Shannon, and Benicio Del Toro.
The story revolves around Richard Kuklinski (Michael Shannon), a notorious mob contract killer and loving family man. He earned his nick-name by freezing the bodies of his victims, disguising the time of death and throwing police off-track. He was a man who used his tendencies toward violence and detachment from consequence to create an idyllic family life. His family and neighbors believed he was an average businessman, having no idea about his deadly alternate life. Kuklinski killed over one hundred people during his life. He never felt remorse for anything he had done, except hurting his family.
If the blockbuster season this year was contentious and divisive, the indie circuit was a treasture trove of bedeazzling content. Check to see what you may have missed or what you know you'll see again.
Michael Shannon delivers a powerfully haunting performance as a stone cold killer unleashed in The Iceman.
TF:
Design-wise, The Iceman knocks it out the park, the costumes, cinematography and settings nailing the grim-and-gritty ’70s feel.
GoodFellas is an obvious inspiration (and not just because of Liotta’s casting). If Vromen doesn’t scale the heights of Marty’s masterpiece, there’s still much to marvel at.
Yes, you can argue it’s a conventional biopic; that we’ve seen it all before. But Vromen directs with such vigour and Shannon performs with such deadly intent, it’ll sweep you up.
Read his book. An interesting person. Very dark. Michael Shannon looks to be having his time in the spotlight with a slew of movies in various genres.
This sounds very interesting
