Deadline: Marvel Studios, which is in production on the Joss Whedon-directed The Avengers, is making a full commitment to Thor 2, with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the title hero. Marvel will need to hire a director for that film because, I've learned, Kenneth Branagh won't be returning as helmer.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Ugh :(
I think he's one of the main reasons the first movie was as good as it was.
This isn't hurting my feelings too much. While it does suck, and I hope the sequel doesn't suffer for it...Marvel has proven that they know how to pick the right directors. I think they'll snag a perfect replacement.
I don't think it will affect the movie that much. I'm sure we'll have someone just as good if not better take over for him.
I'm a bit disappointed because I would have liked to have seen what Branagh could have done with a sequel. Most comic book films don't hit their stride until the sequel, when they get the origins out of the way. Then again, I think we all know the real reason Branagh took up this gig was to increase his clout as a filmmaker and move on to doing his own projects. He is responsible for one of the best film adaptations of Hamlet, and his film Dead Again is one of the best modern examples of film noir.
The only issue I have with a second one is they can't play the "no power" card again. Just like DC Movies, its super hard to create a "down to earth" movie when a guy is running around with a hammer and stronger than hell....
Only reason the first one got by was because he didn't have his powers for a good amount of the movie, if he somehow loses his powers again thats just...yeah don't do that.
