2008 was a great new beginning for DreamWorks. Kung Fu Panda was DreamWorks Iron Man to Disney's Dark Knight. Most people may dislike this comparison, but this was essentially a WALL-E for DreamWorks. Kung Fu Panda was a big surprise. DreamWorks showed it was not dependent on Shrek for sequels. DreamWorks did not just create hollow annoying characters that fans could not follow. showed it could respect Chinese culture when creating the smart immersive imagery for the film. DreamWorks showed that they could write likeable characters: a likeable movie.
