The Voice Of TV: It goes without saying that ‘Louie‘ was a surprise hit last summer for FX. Comedian Louis C.K. has tried TV before in Lucky Louie, which lasted one season on HBO. He came back with Louie, subtracted the live audience and went back to the basics – a show about stand up. Think about it like the first couple of seasons of Seinfeld – a show that originally started with us following the scripted life of comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Both are entirely separate comedians; Seinfeld is more of a mainstream PG-13 act, where as Louis C.K. is more indepedent and appeals to those who prefer the R rated stuff.
