Martin Sheen Interview – Argo, Spider-man Spoilers and Brando Impressions

During a roundtable junket with Martin Sheen for The Way, Sheen went on some fantastic tangents and rather than include them in our coverage of the The Way interviews (which can be found here) we’ve instead collected them here.

On the question of working on The Amazing Spider-Man Sheen spoke briefly about his experience on set and his role in the film. Although none of this will probably be too surprising for anyone familiar with Spider-Man be aware that there are some spoilers for the film contained within the below quote (also keep in mind that this roundtable took place in February).

Sheen is pretty awesome. I'm not sold on his casting as Uncle Ben but am ok with it.

Yes! He has some fantastic stories.

I think he brings a certain respectable charisma to the Uncle Ben role. We'll see how it translates on the screen. It's too early to predict. But I can understand your skepticism.

I like the guy and think he'd be fine but something just screams they were going for star power with that casting. I dunno really what it is but it's something that doesn;t sit right.

Martin is good. Sounds like his part is small in this movie just to introduce the character at the beginning. We'll see next year.
