Theatrical Trailer For Conan The Barbarian Remake Released

Cinema Blend says:

It's been a while since we last saw anything official from the Marcus Nispel-directed remake of Conan The Barbarian - nearly two months to be exact. It was back in early March that the first image of Stephen Lang in makeup as Khalar Zym and the teaser trailer showed up, but neither really gave us any sense of the movie. The first theatrical trailer is here to change that.

I really liked the Original Conan series but I have very little faith in this movie. Jason Mamoa ...somehow just doesn't fit the look of Conan to me. I'll watch it, I just predict monumental failure.

Yeah he's never fit the bill for me either, but I'm willing to look past some of that. I will say he's done a better job of looking the part than I initially thought he would.

I too love the original Conan and hope this doesn't end up like the Clash of the Titans remake.

I'm not very impressed either. We'll have to wait and see as it gets closer to release and see if they show more of whats to come.

One thing that has to happen is plenty of nudity and violence. IF this is PG13 like another site predicts, I'm turning my back on it...Also, it needs to keep the original score. The Conan Theme music is awesome!

They get away with a lot of stuff with PG13 movies these days but yeah I would like to see this get an R. I wanna see some gory fights.

If I was going to make a film like this I would make it absolutely brutal.

Christopher4732d ago

It is rated R.

And, yeah, was very surprised to hear the F-word in Fast Five when I saw it on Friday.

As to the trailer, some of it looked like bad set directing and the few on-wire bits I saw looked really bad. Otherwise, not much else to say for now, though it doesn't look like a bad movie.

eww, it's worse than I could have imagined. This looks more like Zena Warrior Princess but with a heavy metal sound track. I don't think the filmmakers understand what a big part the score played in the original.

alycakes4732d ago

Yes the score always has a big impact and some people don't realize that. The only movie I think it didn't was "No Country For Old Men" and that had not music whatsoever! The story was so powerful and the performances so raw it didn't need any.
