LRA: Tractor Tire Award of the Week - Your Highness

LRA writes: Have you ever watched a trailer and had that one scene, that one shot that made you go "Wow, that was cool!"? Or maybe there was something you saw that stuck with you, something that for some reason was in the back of your head and despite how insignificant it was you were waiting for it to show up in the final cut of the film. But when you watched the movie that scene was nowhere to be found or has been altered in a significant way. Well, that is what the Tractor Tire Award of the Week is all about. We try to track down those scenes that didn't make it into the final version of the film and make sense of them. Where in the film was it supposed to be? Why might it have been cut? Why has it been changed? We may not always have the answers for you but at least you will have your piece of mind and know that you aren't crazy. So, this weeks award goes to Your Highness!

Cowboys and Aliens was not a big disappointment to me or anyone else that I know that saw it. We all loved it and for the same reasons. The characters, the actors that played them, the fresh storyline that's not been done...it wasn't a reboot or sequel or prequel..just a new story and different.

I guess we have to agree to disagree on that one.

Worst Films of 2011 - WGTC

Sean of We Got This Covered wrote, "2011 has been pretty good year at the movies. Woody Allen returned to form with one of his best films ever, Midnight in Paris, Rango was an animated treat that has lingered in my memory all year long and the Oscar race is shaping up to be a fascinating and fun debate. Best of all 2011 has fewer ‘worst films of the year’ candidates than any year that I can remember since I became a film critic more than a decade ago."

Pretty good list, only Larry Crowne seemed underclassed..I would have put Apollo 18 in its place...and added The Human Centipede 2 to dishonorable mentions

Yep, we think it is a good list too. A Serbian Film might be another edition. But, like Bucky Larson it was just plain bad as opposed to a disappointment. Maybe it should have been a top (or rather bottom) 15 instead of 10!

I think Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son is easily worse than any of those movies . of course the problem is , such a movie being awful is no surprise , and quite expected

Mr. Popper’s Penguins and Just Go With It were hilarious

Yeah it is beyond weird to add it among the list films of 2011 when predictably horrible stuff like "Big Momma : like Father like Son" happened

Fototherapist4500d ago

Sucker Punch was really stupid.

I liked sucker punch cause of the girls :)

I think New Year's Eve, Jack and Jill and The Three Musketeers would have been worthier candidates.
