6 years ago NASA launched a probe into space to collect samples of life on other planets. On re-entry to earth, the probe crash-landed between the US and Mexican borders and began to mutate. Today, the border between the two countries has been declared an infected zone as the alien life forms have slowly started to take over the land. Photo journalist Andrew (Scoot McNairy – Cop Out) is in South America and is given strict orders from his editor to bring back his daughter Samantha (Whitney Able – Nikita) who has been stranded out there. Andrew begrudgingly agrees and so begins their journey back to the United States. But problems soon arise and force the couple through the infected zone, a perilous place where their chances of survival are bleak.
