Interview With Eric Bana On Hanna - WGTC

It’s hard to believe that someone with Eric Bana’s build has not had any hand-to-hand combat scenes in his entire career. But that seems to be the case. In some of the promotions that Focus Features have been airing for their latest film Hanna, we have seen Bana actually throw a punch, something movie audiences or fans of his are not normally used to seeing him do. Along with his hand-to-hand combat scenes, Bana talked with We Got This Covered about a couple other things relating to his newest film

Not true. First off, just finished watching Funny People again. He has a fight scene with Sandler in there lol. But also, Troy. Can't remember if there's hand-to-hand combat, but there's definitely sword-and-shield fighting in there that he partakes in which is close enough (and he may very well have had some hand-to-hand in there as well).

I do want to check out this movie though. Looks like it could be a good one.

Hey, anyone who gets to punch Adam Sandler can't be all that bad, right?

And, yeah, the movie does look like it could be good. I do wish Bana had more action-oriented leading roles. I enjoyed his fight scenes in Troy more than others considering they didn't make it look so exact that it felt fake. I felt he actually acted like he was fighting rather than he was following a strictly choreographed fight routine.

Piling on The Pounds: 7 Actors Who Gained Weight For Their Roles

We often hear about actors going to that extra lengths to get into their roles. Some went as far as shaving their luscious locks, like Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta and Charlize Theron for Mad Max: Fury Road, while some starve to lose weight to embody their characters. One of the more difficult things to do for a role is to gain weight. Most of the actors we know are lean and svelte, but when the role demands it and wearing a fat suit just isn’t gonna cut it, they have to pile on the pounds. Here are seven dedicated actors who go to extreme lengths to gain weight for their role.

Netflix to Release Ricky Gervais’ ‘Special Correspondents’ in 2016

Variety:
Netflix will debut Ricky Gervais’ satire “Special Correspondents,” starring Gervais and Eric Bana, worldwide next year.

Bana portrays a struggling New York-based radio journalist who fakes front-line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in the heart of Manhattan. He will direct from his own script.

Netflix spokeswoman Karen Barragan said “Special Correspondents” will not have a theatrical release.

Gervais said: “Having shaken up the TV industry, Netflix is about to do the same to Hollywood. It’s great to be part of the changing future. Ted Sarandos is the new Godfather of entertainment and he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
