My fellow comic book movie fans, today is a sad day indeed. The man who has appeared in more Batman films than any other Batman actor and who defined the role of Alfred Pennyworth for a generation of fans, Michael Gough, passed away today, March 17th, 2011 at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife Henrietta Lawrence.
Lou, Sam and Geoff bring the week in movies and games, including the possibility of Ubisoft movies, cursing your rivals in Madden and Lou's struggle to deal with the price of his affection for Peter Molyneux. The Weekly Whatchas are found after the news.
Very sad to hear. I remember as a kid him being such an important part of those Batman movies (the only actor to be the same in all 4 movies). I couldn't imagine anyone else as Alfred even though Michael Caine has done a fantastic job. Now that I'm older and have seen his other works, it's easy to see how good of an actor he truly was. Sad to see him pass, but glad for all he did.
@ Arcee,
Yes! Phantom of the Opera was very amazing and he did a wonderful job in that film. Didn't see him in Richard III, but I've got all weekend to get caught up!
